I have now gone through 2 chainrings in the space of three weeks. The bolts that hold them onto the crank just dont seem to be strong enough. Any suggestions?
Yea, i know of this, but the skateboard has a lower coeficient of friction than a brake pad, so where the wax helps the skateboard to slide, in the same way it helps to prevent the brake pads from sliding/slipping.
My dad actually told me about it because he used to use it when he did cyclo-cross to improve his braking power. All you need is a candle and rub on a thin layer of wax onto your rims and your in business...
I use candle wax round my rims. I would say that it offers you almost as much grip in the dry as using tar and it has just as much grip in the wet as it does in the dry. Another bonus that it has over tar is that it doesnt make that horrible squeeking noise.
I would also say that its worth getting Ryan Leeche's DVD: mastering the art of trials, as this will show you the techniques and explain how you can do them.
I would say the best thing to do would be to just keep practising on walls or ledges and just keep trying to jump up higher and higher objects. This will help because it will build up your confidence on a wall or ledge that you can easily jump and then when you get on to higher and higher objects it might take a few attempts but you will get there eventually. just keep at it!
I could possibly be up 4 that, but not anytime soon, as disaster has stuck 2nite, completely mangled my front gear... lol all being well should be able 2 fix it tomorrow though, so not too bad...
probly not this weekend. doubt it, cos im jus getin back into it. used 2 ride a few years ago an then stopped 4 sum reason, jus gettin back into it now though. got an onza t-raptor rite now.
