  1. Hey guy's, round 1 of the YMSA uci championship is this weekend at Dudwood farm. Just a reminder to get off you arses and enter now! Forms can be found on www.ymsa-biketrials.co.uk and also tartybikes i believe.

Alot of effort goes into these events guy's and i know loads have said they are attending but haven't entered yet. Well worth going, always a laugh and great venues and sections. See you there!

  2. went for the comp weekend. Haven't ridden in a while so spent all day Saturday attempting to ride! Woke up Sunday and felt so ill, think i might have eaten something dodgy :( . Other than that was good to ride at such an awesome place. Thanks to Everyone i went with, was a good laugh. cheers-Hugh

  3. hebo are fairly good, but i've used fox gloves from my local motocross shop for the last year or so and they last for ages but are dead comfy. If your not bothered about new designs just look for maybe the 06/07 designs, pretty much the same gloves just different colors and cheaper! Thats what i do anyways.

  4. Hey all, i know this has come up alot but mainly about the 06 hubs. I'm considering getting a hope pro II 07 if another option doesn't work out. Has there been any failures with the new style hubs? What are they like in terms of strength i.e. do they skip alot? Was thinking of a king but haven't really got the cash to blow if the hope will do the same job. cheers-Hugh

  6. yeah, taken it up this year, just got back from the pyrenees with some friend's. I'll probably be keeping up the boarding throughout the year at the various indoor places and the local dry slope to me. Possibly going to new zealand boarding in the summer and then tp the alps later in the year.

I've picked it up reasonably well and did quite a bit of off piste and a few red run's. I think i need to brush up my technique before i start jumps as I'm not amazingly confident turning when i have a lot of speed and just need to sort a few things out with the front foot steering as sometime i feel like I'm forcing the board round with my back foot.

The funny thing is I'm comfy on the blue and red slopes and off piste doing turns at a moderate speed but i really struggle on the pretty much flat runs between chair lifts. For example there was one on la mongie last week that i hated as it was pretty much flat but soooo hard pack/icey you picked up a lot of speed and it was quite narrow in places and i didnt seem to be able to just ride flat on the board, it always stepped out very so often and tried to catch an edge. Maybe i just need to work on my edge to edge control and become more subtle with it.

  7. Fooooook you people take stuff way too seriously, Dave was only messing about and didn't mean it in the way you lot are assuming. I too was surprised someone thought this was the lad who one the tarty raffle, i'm sure it was an easy mistake to make if he is just a beginner but Dan has been around the sport for a long time and has achieved a lot, he's had great comp results and in my eyes is the best 26" rider in the UK. I've also always found the Butler family to be great people, always good fun and they run a great comp series which is affordable and well organized. Just a shame people make up their minds about people through a comment on a forum where people spend to much time talking when they could be riding! :D
