Don't think I can trust the opinion of anyone who thinks the Hot S was a grippy tyre They were awful!
Another vote on Try-all, so what if they wear out sooner, even a worn out one is still grippier than tyres meant for XC, they are a decent weight too. Cutting a tyre isn't a bad thing either, the comparison to grinding a rim was a good one.
I was going to say i remember washing out on a Hot S on a XC bike when i was younger. There is a glaring fact that i recognise the Try-all tyre is grippy. Im not that bothered about it wear rate. I was on the search for another tyre that might be out there as a alternative because there is a big cycling industry out there and maybe someone from the forum had a answer.
The choice of a Try-all tyre is not that i don't like it but more that i wanted a option before making a final choice.
Might get a Try-all sticky and get a blade to chop it down a bit. @ around the £30 mark its the way it looks i will go.

Bravo Nick. Really liked a rail slide line in there. Well all of it was really really good. Looked like that took some blood sweat and tears to get some of those lines. Top Stuff.
