monty foam grips are horrible there way to thin, if you want good foam grips get trial tech ones there much thicker.

[Vee Or Magura]

Ive used vee and magura on the front both with plazmatic pads on a smooth rim, and i would recommend going for a magura, my vee brake was awful, it lacked in everything. Power, Hold, Bite and the lever felt horrible. It was impossible to set up, the left hand arm always rubbed on the rim. I had this set up with my vee. Shimano Xl 2008 arms, Plaz crv's, Oddessy Slic linear Cable and a Avid sd7 lever. All of it was brand new.

So basically in my view these are the pros and cons of both.

Vee Pros:

Umm.

Vee Cons:

Hard to set up,

Pads wouldn't hit square,

Awful feel to the lever,

Awful hold, power and bite.

Magura Pros

Easy to set up,

Better lever feel,

More power and you can have modulation,

More choice of pads.

Magura Cons :

Can snap hoses,

Can crack slaves and lever body.

Tpas break,

May freeze in the winter if you use a water bleed.
