Will be good to see you again Sue - Ill be getting loadsa shots... seeing as my ridings gone downhill

  3. Hey All

1st post on here for me for donkeys!!!

Had a great ride... well, I didnt really ride but had a great time! Was soooo good to see you all again (those of you who i actually know) and all the others! Jon (Granger) and Rich, ur both poor - i wanted to see you BOTH riding and for longer than half an hour :( ahh well, you better be over next ride!

I got soooooo many pics from the day. I WILL try and get them up here but Im not sure how its done anymore, ive been away THAT long. Fraid most of them came out bad but the good ones are worth a poke so yeh... watch this, or some other, space!

Jon, you are the DON of organising rides. Get yourself a bike and organise us a BIIIIIG IOW ride sometime soon..! Im waiting... my watch, it ticks!!!

    - Sam/Samwell, guy with green reading hoodie, blue waterproof jacket, Onza Comply, camera, flash, goshawk bag... ermm, run out of things to list ;)

  4. ahhhhhhh men men men.

Do i know you then mr 1495??? we met before? who are you? where we meet? what bike rides you?

Hook Woods is great yeh if your good and careful plus have money. Otherwise, if your not good, not careful and skint - dont go! haha. Plus its a slight mission from gilly... wud take roughly........... 20 mins at least by car. add another 10 to that if like me you have a slightly modded car and cant go more than 1mph up the dirt track leading to it.

  5. OH my god. You are all turning into women!!!!!!

The guys posted up some pics of him riding on a car which IS old and if its failing its MOT fine, whatever.

I think its great that these pics are up here - its some1 riding over something you wouldnt do, unless u had the chance. Dont tell me you wouldnt ride on a car if someone said to you "heres my old car thats either gonna be scrapped or you can use it to ride on".

As for the monument, yeh in all honesty he shudnt have ridden there but he did and lots of people do. In Portsmouth 100s of riders ride over the old ruins on the seatfront and no1 has anything to say then. As for Reading with the old ruins in the park there... same story. In this case, hes done it - enough of you have shown ur disgust so im sure it wont happen again.

So yes it may be wrong, BUT THIS IS A TRIALS FORUM - not a grannys nagging forum.

    GOOD PICS mate :)

  6. check the weather - rain/showers all day forecasted.

but if you go check portsmouth webcams, to check the weather for yourself, it looks like the clouds clearing and the skys clear.

    hmmm...

im gonna give it 15/30 mins or so to prove to me it wont be a wasted trip - then may get ready. jonny sed the same.

  7. Hey guys!!!

just a quick word - cheers for the ride today... and sat.

was cool meeting u all, perhaps next time i see you all ill be just as good as you... mwahahaha

    then again maybe not :P

I asked my mate if i cud stay at his again soon, like before xmas, and he was a bit unsure - coursework n stuff u c. So maybe i wont see you till next year unless you do a big ride in bristol... and it doesnt rain! ha

    anyways, takiteaazie

    samwell ;)

  8. yea had a good ride -

I was a bit worried i cudnt do anything after not riding for so long and having a dodgey back...

...and i was right. I cudnt do much, stacked onto my arse trying to go up something 2 foot big :ermm: and moaned for a long while about my back

but otherwise, i had a good day taking some pics (give me 3-8 weeks to process them  )

I was a little pissed off phil n ed (guys i came with) decided to break away from the group - ed fell off trying to sidedrop a 4/5 foot wall and landed on his arse - shortly after we left.

I feel it didnt extend to as much as last time we rode but it was still damn good. I still ache. Cant be a bad thing!

  9. If you can't do the m4 size you could always go one size bigger and just drill your 4 bolt mounts and booster to fit

Im at size M6 atm - i think. m5 was originally drilled for the correct helicoils but now its m6, if anything.

Also, the booster i will be using has spacers, like others. They cant be replaced so easily, it would be just more of a hassle.

That link was useful thank you tom, although ive already tried the metal paste mix and it doesnt hold anything. I drilled it when i tried, then when tapping, it turned into chalk. And ive been told i was using the best stuff!!! (someone apparently glued their brake LEVER with it)

    :(

  10. Hi

I have a problem. I got a 2nd hand frame off someone recently. It wasnt too old. The 4 bolt mounts on one side had been stripped so either himself, or someone else, had attempted to helicoil the mounts. They had done a shoddy job and when I went to put a bolt in, they went in at a nasty angle and one came out it was so loose.

I decided to redo the helicoils but obviously, there wasnt enough thread for the coils to lock on to.

I tried filling the hole with metal putty (JB Weld) and drilling again, but it didnt work at all.

Im kind of lost for ideas now, I could weld the hole up with metal but thats a lot of hassle. I dont like the feeling im stuck here with a useless frame

    any ideas?

  11. Jonny, if you read this then... good!

I shall be getting the 9.30 train from farnham which gets to waterloo at 10.45ish (few delays) :S

I hope you can join me - martin newman shall be on the train too. Phil cant come because his cranks are screwed (ridden 4 times on new echo cranks soon after pedal thread stripped for no reason - cheap cheese i spose?)

    so yeh.
