    Need Help

Hi guys, would need help to guide me on how to measure BB height.. i am still having the old Crescent Illions frame. i dont remember any specification stating the BB height of the bike.. But assuming the way you measure the bike example measuring the chainstay length, would be middle of rear shaft to middle of bb. that would be your chainstay length. i was using this method to measure my bb height.. taking measurement from middle of rear wheel shaft to ground and than taking middle of bb to ground.. and subtracting it and that would be the bb height.. My question now would be if i change any of my tyres (especially the front) to a higher sidewall type, the measurement would be different i believe.. Any advise on this?? and from my knowledge is that different BB height uses different length and rise of stem. really need help to readjust my bike handling and geometry. Thanks in advance. Regards, Kel

    Splitters

thanks guys for all the reply.. i have gave up in doing the splitter.. I accidentally broke one of the "legs" of the splitter while hammering the splitter into the hose leaving me no choice but to go back to the normal crossover.. anyway i change the whole brake lines to the braided hose.. great improvement over the plastic hose.. stiffer brakes and firmer hold.. Regards, Kel (P.S. Now without brake booster my frame flex)

    Splitters

Hi, just wondering if any of you guys here uses the monty splitters? http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...p;category_id=5 i had one previously and it works great.. but when i was replacing the hose i accidently broke one of the "legs".. now i was wondering if i should get a new one and use it or i should go back to the the crossover. any recommendations and feedbacks are welcome? Regards, kel
  6. it is "WHAT DO YOU THINK/WANT" others can tell you to continue but you just think of quiting, you will quit eventually... if you think that there are more cons than pros, there is no one to stop you from thinking that.. i came back to trials recently after a long break due to injury.. but i still enjoy it.. nowadays i ride trials alone as most of my friends ride street and dirt.. when i go trails riding, i even apply trials in it.. you will see those envy faces of those that doesnt know.. my trail riding friends ask me to teach them a thing or 2 so they can "improve" their riding skills.. you need not go for big moves and small moves alone does improve your bike handling ability.. every problems has a solution.. it is depends on whether you want to face it or just simply turn away from it.. i do agree with time constrain due to the work and gf thingy.. but its depending on how you want to manage it.. if you cant manage time you simply cant manage anything in life because time is simply everything in life.. just my 2 cent... there is not point of the poll... as it will still be "WHAT DO YOU THINK/WANT"...
  7. Thanks alot for the help.. meanwhile i will measure up my frame and seek help in the Trials chat section.. regards Kel
  8. thanks for the advise.. i was thinking of changing frame.. but i am small guy, thats y i keep with my crescent till now.. Was considering to get a yaabaa 1499 but always worried that the frame would be too long for me.. any advise would be good. Regards, Kel
  9. Hi all, i know a longer fork would change the geometry of the bike but as for handling wise what would be the difference? And i was wondering if my fork is alittle too short? currently my fork from measured 395mm.. was thinking of changing to a 420mm fork.. btw i am riding a crescent ilions.. and as for handlebar and stem setup, what would be a good combo for my frame? thanks in advance.. regards, Kel
  10. i used to train on a GT zaskar which is a mountain bike frame which has a negative bb high.. and after i changed to a Crescent Ilions i felt so much of different in geometry. with the higher bb, i was so confident of doing big moves.. my say would be learning it from a low bb trials bike first and you would feel that changing to a high bb frame makes move so much easiler..
  11. any idea where can i get one of the armourdillo protector? i have been searching for a long time..
  12. hi all, i am Kel.. currently riding a crescent illions.. came back to trials recently after an serious injury.. hoping to get to know more friends and learn new moves from fellow trial riders.
