    ash

  2. thanks i'll bare that in mind and get back to you if i decide that i fancy them
  3. yeah sounds good, monty ti, rage bars, pro 720 or trialtech???? would rather keep the stem than the bars to be honest thanks for the replys, ash.
  4. thanks for the reply, that makes more sense lol can anyone suggest a good stem or remember the geo of the monty one? ash. pic of current stem and bars if it helps:
  5. hi all, i havent rode in months (seasoned rider i gueess) and i'm going to start getting the bike freshend up a bit for when the evenings draw out the frame is an echo team, i am currently using a monty 221 ti stem (carbon effect one) and onza carbon raisers but i'm about an inch shy of 6ft and find this quite low so i'm looking for a bit more of a rise... i am thinking a tryall nuck and the trialtech high rise bars? any other suggestions or recomendations would be appreciated! ohh and i guess i'm on about a £100 budget! thanks, ash.
  6. i can take the bolt and lever off and the piston still remains down inside
  7. i have sealed it up air tight with water in and i can now push the lever in and the pistons on the slaves pop out nicely but then the lever is not capable of springing back so i have to pysically push the slaves to pop the lever piston back out, any ideas on how to sort out the lever??
  8. i have edited the thread because i have just took the brake apart to find that the problem lies with the master piston, i have been able to pull it out with pliers, cleaned the chamber, spring and piston and re greased it, i then put it in and put more fluid in the brake by pulling one of the slevs out and putting the bleed pins in but it still gets jammed in as soon as you push it in..... am i doing something wrong?? ash.
  9. they sound good, i'v just ordered mine will have to see what method works best for me when i get them, i guess it depends on what finish you have on your bars as to how well they stick
  10. just worked out that the profile and sprocket together come to about 450g by changing to a ffw setup (echo sl ffw and echo tr fixed hub) i would only save 36g so i wont be doing that, i am thinking about changing the forks though, the teams weigh in at over 1015g by getting some tryall forks of echo sl's i would prety much half that weight! i am also going to get rid of the bash plate and replace it with a ring probly a trialtech titanium one... anyone know weather the old tensiles are heavy or should they be ok on there...? thanks for the replys so far and yes it rides nicely, i find it quite low at the front at times though... ash.
  11. custard creams and the chocolate versions are by far the best dunking ones because the outside goes soggy and the inside stayes cold!!
  12. if i did decide to get rid of the profile (dont think i will because its very nice to ride with) how much would i be looking to get for it and what ffw and rear hub would be good to replace it with? also thinking about echo cnc cranks and trialtech titanium bash ring to replace the tensiles that are shredding my ankles and that nasty bash plate...any good? might change to a echo cnc stem and keep the bars or get vis pro 720's and keep the stem would echo lite forks be lighter than the teams or do i need to be looking at other brands? thanks for the replys so far, some good ideas ash
  13. thanks for the replys, the bike seems heavy at the back, would this be because of the profile/wheel build at the back?
  14. right so i have not long had this lovely echo team 05, its in real good condition but i think it could do with a bit of a spruce up idealy to lighten it up...i think red bits would look good in moderation, any ideas on parts, colours or things to do to it to improve it?... at the moment the specs are as follows: (slightly diferent from the pic as i havent been able to take a up to date one yet but i'll try to tomorrow) frame-2005/6 ECHO team forks- Echo team bb- echo front rim- tryall rear rim-tryall front hub-americal classic (ace hub...real light) rear hub-profile spokes- black with black nips front tyre-creepy crawler rear tyre-tryall sticky front brake-older hope mono trial (not changing its ace!) rear brake set up-05 maggie unknown pads (soon to be lgm's or heatsinks in cnc) and echo cnc clamps. bars-onza carbon raiser stem- monty 221 grips- black rubber (not shown in pic) headset- echo cranks-tensile with echo crank bolts pedals ox blood v8's (not shown in pic) comments welcome, what should i do to this steed to lighten it up/make it ride better/pimp it??? ash
  15. could you all put your opinions into the poll now i have got it to work (didnt want to on ipod for some reason) thanks for all the replys, ash.
  16. hi all, i know there are various threads running about pads ect. at the moment, aswell as the pad reviews but i cant work out from them and the product descriptions on tarty and the heatsink site what pads would work and work best on a dead grind...?? i would like to get on and order some tonight so all replys are welcome ash.
  17. Sounds good any info on were and how to get this??
  18. thanks for the replys guys, the tnn's seem to be popular, are they ok to use with most rim types (smooth/ground/warn down)?? i have also been looking at heatsink and coust pads in cnc backings... the frame is a echo team 05-06 ash.
  19. that sounds good, just sand the rim with wet and dry/emery papaer? and how do i use tar?? never used it before... thanks, ash.
  20. right i think i'm going to have to bite the bullet to get the maggie working beast! at the moment it is rather spongy when the lever should be solid (i think it needs a bleed) it also has fairly soft pads (dont know what they are but they are green in a plastic backing and i can see them squeezing in when i pull the lever and they are agains the rim, i think this could be adding to the spungyness of the lever... all of this is running on a tryall rim with a dull grind but i think there are a few shallow but longish dents in it... so i will be geting new pads, probably a new rear rim and a bleed....what rim and pads do you suggest?? i am thinking about giving a smooth rim a go with cnc backed pads opinions please... ohh and the frame has a booster built in and the clamps are echo cnc (without the plastic washers) thanks in advance, ash.
  21. i learnt most of what i know on the kurb outside my front door, i too have no car and trials is only just really starting up arround here, a few kids are now geting bikes after having a go on mine and stuff....hopefully it will spread more and there will be plenty of people to ride with!
