  1. It should be fine. Chasing is not a repair by the way, it is just cleaning up the threads, you will still have damaged threads but the shell should still be useable

I measured the damaged threads and its 5mm.But if there are damaged threads after the cleaning, how is the bb going to be screwed in the shell?

  2. Hey guys today while i was changing my bb a friend of mine tried to put the bb on the frame but he didnt line it up (im not sure thats the phrase?)and as a result the frame ended up with 1/4 thread of the left side thread almost striped. Is there any way i can fix this?(maybe i can bolt something like a full threaded bb like thing through the shell to fix the messed up threads?)The frame is an inspired fourplay 2011.

    Thanks in advance...

  3. Bad idea mate.

When you say the one on the left what do you mean? Are the teeth closer to the spokes or the frame?

the tooths are closer to the frame. There was a spacer between the bb and the freewheel, where it shouldnt be,it was placed on my previous frame at my local bike shop.

  4. On most cogs, the teeth are on one side and the threads are on the oter side.

If the 'thread side' is on the right of the hub and it still wont budge, you may need a shorter bottom bracket.

    Like this.

Its like the left cog in the picture...Anyway,I found out what was causing it,there was a spacer in the bottom bracket,so i removed it and its ok now.Thank you all for your replies :)

  5. What rear cog do you have and which way round is it? Which way does your chain bend?

Onza cog,12 tooth, and the chain bends towards the crank(the freewheel is at the right of the cog from a rear view)what do you mean by wich way round is it?

  6. Hey guys,i recently bought an inspired fourplay frame, and as my previous bike was an onza zoot 2010,i put all the parts from the onza to the inspired frame. The problem i have is that now that i put all the parts on the new frame,my chain line is quite offset as the bb shell is wider than the old one(my freewheel is non aligned with my rear cog, resulting in making the bike unrideable)My question is,what should i do?should i go for a new bb,or a new hub?are there any modifications i can do so i dont have to buy new parts?

    Thanks in advance. :)

  7. Yep, Well my mate powder coated it for me, Looks even better in the flesh as well!

I had it done before the new 2011 Inspired range came out, & the new Inspired frame is in the same colour lol!

It looks awesome!I asked because i thought it was the 2011 model but then i saw the dropouts and the headtube and i was like  !

  8. are you running a front disc? might be worth checking those bolts, also some discs have some play in the pads. These could cause a 'wobbly' front end.

    Nope,Front Vees...

    This^

Even slightly loose calliper or rotor bolts can lead to a lot of play in the front end. If that's not it then it might be worth stripping and inspecting the headset and bearings. It could also be the headset cups moving slightly in the frame? (that would need a new headset to fix)

No the caps arent moving but i'll check the bearings though...

Just a quick check but are you tightening the stem/steerer tube clamp bolts or the top cap bolt? Don't think anyone asked this yet...

Edit: And are you loosening the stem/steerer tube bolts before you tighten the top cap bolt, because if you're not it'll just pull the star nut up or snap the top cap/bolt

Of course i loosen the steerer bolts first before i tighten the top cap!

Anyways,If i want to replace the headset, should i go for an internal one?Or stadard headsets are better?

    Thanks.

  9. Make sure you have at least 1cm of room between the top of the steerer and the top of the stem before tightening. Might be the "wedge".

What do you mean by wedge?

5mm is more then enough, if its a 1cm gap then the top stem bolt will just be crushing the steerer tube and won't be adding much clamping force.

To the original poster, how are you trying to tighten it up? Are any components missing from the headset?

No there all there, but what do you mean with how im trying to tighten it up?untight the stem, tight the topcap, then tight the stem if thats what you mean.It doesnt have much "play"in the headset, but ive ridden bikes with less "play"...

  10. Could be your starnut, order a new one or if you dont want to use star nuts buy a headlock. (Y)

    Star nut

    Headlock

    Sam

I have just replaced my starnut because my old one got bend. :ermm: Which one do you think is better? Are the headlocks heavy?

your fork might be too long,or did you loose your stem bolts?

I dont think theres a problem with my fork length because its the factory one,and the stem is tight...Im afraid it may be my headset though...

  11. Hey guys can anone explain to me the differences between internal and standard headsets? Also i have a problem with my headset.I have an onza zoot 2010 and the whole front end feels a bit "wobbly" .No matter how much i tight it when i am on a complete stop and push the front brake, then move back and forth the front end feels a bit loose. Is my headset damaged? :(

    Thanks,Themis.

  12. Hey guys,I'm having a problem with the chain tugs on my onza zoot.At first i had the onza chain tugs, which after 2 weeks of riding, the one thats at the side of the chain, snapped. At the moment i have a pair of gusset kojack tugs, and the problem is that the hole on the tugs is bigger than the bolts and the right bolt keeps digging the tug hole towards the cranks.Plus the tug keeps bending. What am i doing wrong? :(

  13. Hey guys i was considering buying a 24" frames from marino bike when i noticed that they only have money transfer as a paying option.Has anyone ordered from them?Is it safe? Are the frames any good?
