  1. aye, but if you leave your tyres pumped up they can expand and explode because the hold isn't pressurised like the cabin is

If you pack your bike up good, They'd have to do some serious chucking to damage it

And if they do damage it, you can probably claim as long as you show that you packed it well and prevented damage as much as you could

Yeah good point there. I will just let the tyres flat as possible.. and stuff the tyres with bubble wrap and then package it up with poly.

    thanks though dude !

    hi mate,

I took my bike to OZ in march last yr, i stayed in brissy and met le the guy who makes the TNN stuff, hes cool, also a guy called reid, and tim who ownes Expressive bikes.

These guys are all in Brisbane, thats where i was, i went for a holl and comp, south bank in brissy is great to ride!

One tip i would recomend is, make sure your tyres are clean!!! as they are hot on contaminated tyres coming into the county case the mud on your tyres are from farms with diseases on etccc......(its to protect there wildlife)

UPS was cheap for me, they pick it up from your house etc.

    Hope it helped!

Dean (Leighton Buzzard) close to you ay!

    Hey dude,

Awesome, finally someone thats been there. This is what i wanted really ha. Brissy looks awesome to ride when i went there, defo worth a trip down there!

I will probably just get new tyres when i go... less hasle and also means i have new tyres :P

I'm thinking of just taking my bike to UPS and saying, right.. i need to to go to ozzy on blardy blah and ask for a price.

    Defo helped mate,

    Big thanks (Y)

    Sam-

( should meet up and ride sometime as your close (Y) )

  2. In natural places like Forists and things personly i wouldnt serjest it purely because of the spiders snakes etc etc. Im not scaird of spiders Its because of the size, colours and fangs :P

But man made places (ill use brisbine for an eg' then go onto sidney and some small villages) Brisbine is fantastic theres rocks put by the river with a big side walls to dop off, side hop up pedal kick up etc i saw a fair bit of brisbine and it mainly seems to be the out-skirts that have to good riding spots as the inner city seems to be all sky scrapers. Small towns seem alright to ride i'm not joking every single town i went to had a skate park if your into the 24" or bmx stuff too! Even the most remote places have fantastic places to ride that beat my village and surrounding villages too for riding spots. I would have killed to have even a small ride in these places, They have benches, wooden and metal poles, concrete ditches to gap, you have the lot there! Sidney: Sidney is a fantastic place also (yes i know I've said that about everywhere:P ) It's a normal city really, Including the brill places to ride in the center of Sidney. (sorry for the basic description on Sidney)

If you have any questions Feel free to ask me.

oh and sorry for the essay :P

    Laurence.

EDIT: where abouts are you moving to?

Cheers pal. Yeah the natural stuff looks amazing but when i last went i wasnt doing trials so i didnt no what to look for ha!

Aussie is massive and there must be a brilliant place somewhere right ! Snakes and spiders: yeah i get where you coming from... bloody horrible things to incounter with ha. I'm moving to Townsville.. its just above Brisbane?

  3. Take it with you on the plane. I brought mine with me when I came here. Didn't charge me a penny. Mind you I only had one suitcase. If you have two suitcases you might get charged.

Just pack it out in a box, take the stem off the steerer and the front wheel. Back wheel isn't necessary but means you can use a slightly smaller box. Take the pedals off too. Then pad it out with polystyrene like crazy.

Letting air out of the tires isn't necessary too, that rule is more for high pressure road tires, the difference in air pressures big fat trials tires won't make a difference.

On the plane as hand luggage ?! Surely it will be to big ?

Yeah i was going to take tubes out and stuff it with bubblewrap ?

  4. I flew over to france with mine, you cant really get to ausie any other way unless you like the sea, haha. The price was a standard luggage price but I didnt pay any extra for it to be kept safe, if your planing on flying remember to let your tyres down!

    Theo (Y)

Awesome i heard France is good to ride.. Yeah im guessing i'll have to fly it over unless i ship it oveer... which means it taking 5 weeks !

I heard it was alot to ship over?

Also i've read that if u let ur tyres down, if they drop the box it can put flat spots in ur rims ?

    Thanks mate Sam (Y)

If your moving over there are you getting your furniture/stuff shipped? is so put it in with that. Or take it on the plane as sports equipment/luggage.

I'm guessing you'll fly with qantas? is so check here http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/sporting-equipment/global/en

Well im actually going over on my own... ( Dad is already out there ) so im not taking furniture ect.

Yep i will be flying with quantas and if i do take it as Sport Equipment do i need a bike bag ?

  5. hey guys ! Basically i'm moving to Australia in July ... and i've just bought a new Gu Le '10 and im refusing to leave it behind. I want to no if know if anyone on here has moved to Australia... if so whats the riding like ?

Also.. whats the easiest way to get my bike over there and do you know any prices...

much appreciated if anybody can help!

    Sam- (Y)

  6. Good video mate.

I really want to ride those walls in Dunstable high street.

Don't worry bout the sidehopping the 'wrong' way thing, me and my mate dan (dan6061) both do it and it doesn't hinder sidehops much. just look at Neil Tunnicliffe he can sidehop 8 pallets the 'wrong' way.

and also if you were going to by a 108 freewheel get the echo sl, much better value for money.

Thanks mate ! The walls n high street are awesome, a really good gap there.

Yeah that was what i had in mind :S I been told that if you side hop the "wrong" way your pedal can hit the wall but that makes no sense at all hah !

I wont be buying another freewheel as i just got my tensile 40 click which is pretty good. If i wil get anything i'll probs buy the 108 click tensile.

    Sam

  7. Nice mate. Just to say, you side hop the wrong way. Look confident and you've got guts.

cheers dude ! Yeah i no ! I'm right foot forward but i find it easier to side hop that way :S? i can side hop both ways but i havnt got a clue why that feels more natural ! ¬¬

  8. Nice video i liked the editing but put some more sidehops in. Also it look like you need some more engagement if i was you i would get a try-all freewheel they have good engagement http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=2035&category_id=16 but over all nice video keep it up.thumbsupanim.gif

Thanks mate. Yeah im putting alot of time into sidehops atm. Well most of the clips was when i was riding a onza bird which had a very poor freewheel on. On the zoo! i have a tensile 40 click which i like alot. Thanks for the comment (Y)

  9. Nice riding, you're doing good

How long you been riding? Look a little unsettled on the backwheel at times but you got where you wanted to go so I guess that's the point

Only complaint I have is the constant sepia and slow motion sections got a bit nauseating

thanks dude. I've been riding say 7 months.

It's my first video and first time ever edditing so thats why it wasnt good, sorry man :)

thanks for the advice though !

  10. *lurching...also known as pedalkicking.

    trashzen

    Click it

na dude, i can pedal kick fine. I'll give it my best shot to explain.

    * You go up to a wall, put your front wheel on the wall.

    * You use body weight to lift yourself up and onto your rear wheel *without kicking your pedals*

It doesnt make sense to me ha

  11. Hey guys, Basically everytime i try to lerch up onto a wall, i cannot do it :S. If anybody has any help or advice feel free to help me !

( i no you cant teach trials, but if u explain how you do it, i may learn something, also "lerch" has many different names)

    Thanks

    Sam-

  12. or just got another idea, you could rap some grip tape around it, you could get it in whatever color you want and if you spend some time doing it and do it neatly it wont look to shaby.

    chris

awesome, that sounds pretty good to me. Might have to give it a try , thanks dude.

  13. you could use a plastic pipe and chop it in half to make it half a tube lol or you could try making something with some handy sowing work, get some cloth or tuff material or something and put somthing thick in between two sheets of your material like d3o or something, that would be perfect.

Yeah i was thinking of lining it with something, but i cant sew! Im thinking like maybe an old 661 shin pad and putting over it ?
