  1. I had been riding bmx for several years before I started to ride trials. I don't think it has influenced my trials riding style. For me bmx and trials are two different things. And when I quit bmx riding I stopped doing bmx tricks. I still love watching bmx riders and every once in a while I feel like riding again. but when I ride trials I am not influenced by my bmx background, I'm influenced by the good trials riders and try to ride trials like they do. I think because I've done all the bmx stuff (vert, dirt, street, flatland) before I don't feel like doing bmx-tricks on my trials bike. It's like "been there done that" and I've already lived it out .

  2. I never knew that the bigger someone goes the better they obviously are  alot of people dont seem to have any idea what is needed from some one at top level UCI competitions, the amount of stamina, consistancy, precision and composure is unreal.

It's amazing to think some people even in there own sport have such a stupid view on what makes a good rider, going big is not the only thing that matters, though if thats what people on here want to think, fine! i can't force someone to think differently :)

Not taking anything away from Damon he goes insanely big, he obviously trains his body very hard to achieve this and congratulations to him on achieveing what he has, it goes without saying there are very few people in the world who can do what he does.

Also if you take into account what TRA has said about the size of gillies relative to his sidehops just imagine what he could do if he bulked up?

I guess a lot of English riders tend to think jumping off of buildings is good trials riding! (and even better than a world champion's riding) ;)

  3. Tidy, how are those Coust pads treating you?

used to have coust pads on my rear brake for a while. I wasn't really pleased. I had quite some expectations because everybody was talking about them. but they didn't work that well for me. maybe I didn't set them up perfectly or whatever. now I use the tnn pads (green) which perform much better (at least in my case)

  4. Safer for wrists? howcome? less stress and weight on palms?

Considering i'm still recovering from fractures in both wrists, thats a big side to consider...

Because of the backsweep of the bars. I once read that backsweep is safer for your wrists because of the angle of your hands. let your arms hang down and you'll notice that your hands will be in a certain position. your palms will have a certain angle to your body. that's the natural position. and palming bars with backsweep kinda imitates that position (not exactly but you get the idea) I've had two different bars with no back sweep before and now I have riserbars with backsweep and I can definitely tell a difference. feels much more comfortable..

  5. However, in this world cup, if your looking for passing football which is interesting watch teams like South Korea and the like, They are playing for their future as their players want to be spotted by bigger clubs. The "smaller" teams are much more interesting to watch as they are the under dogs in most games and are not afraid to go forward because anything but a loss is a huge bonus.

Still l do love my Football !!!

    Josh.

your statement is true for south korea.. but south korea is the only team that plays like that. The huge difference between South Corea and any other team is, that every south corean player is moving all the time and trying to get/block every single ball. Usually football players tend to avoid running around too much. Furthermore the Corean guys tackle everytime instead of just standing in front of a player indicating that he'd better pass the ball to somebody else.." ;) Because that's what football players usually do and that's the reason why most of the time the ball is being passed around far away from the opponent's goal most of the time. Most teams are, like mentioned by someone else, afraid of losing and that's why they all stand in in their half of the court and wait. Therefore most matches end up 1:0 or 1:1 ... so one or two goals in 90 minutes... what a accomplishment *lol*

but hey, if you like football that's ok. At least the worldcup gives people joy and a reason to watch a few games together and have fun!
