  1. I'd go for halifax. You don't need money to open the account unlike a lot of others, and you get a debit card & card protection. If you open a 16+ account though you will have to close it at 18 and open a proper account, which is the same for all the banks i think.

  2. And don't bother with crucial or source... A lot of problems I've heard from both of those.

When I was riding I had nothing but problems anytime I dealt with crucial, but source were always brilliant with everything. That was 12 months ago though so they could have changed, but it's still run by the same 2 brothers so I can't see much will have changed.

But for £350/400euro you can get a well specced second hand bike with full chromo frame, forks, bars & decent parts. What type of riding do you do? As then people could reccomend bikes a bit better.

  4. Right, we are trying to get one of the drivers from driftworks as the model for next in 2011 as a laugh.

It would be great if you could vote for him, you can vote as many times as you like as long as you use different email addresses and different browsers (you can use any made up email address so you dont have to put your own).

It's all for a good laugh so get voting people!

    Thanks everyone.

  5. Haha I like them! Your dad seems cool.

    There's more.

"Always hit the biggest f**ker in the fight first" dad

"Never saw the branch you're on, unless you're being hung from it" grandad

"You have the right to remain silent, anything you do say will be misquoted, and used against you" grandad

"A new broom sweeps well" nan

"Do not condemn the judgment of another because it differs from your own, you may both be wrong" dandemis

"Don't compromise yourself, your all you've got" janis joplin

  6. "Dont let the b*stards grind you down" my dad has always said this to me when i was at school and the deputy head was trying to make me leave.

"He who asks is a fool for five minutes, he who doesn't ask is a fool for life" my college tutor.

"If you want to f**k her then f**k her and leave her, if you like her then treat her like a princess" my dad

"you can't jump a chasm in two leaps" lloyd george

  7. Interesting one... It's not illegal to film someone, but I don't know if filming someone committing an act like you describe would be treated the same way.

You probably want to avoid court for all the trouble it would cause. If she keeps pushing it then hint that you have some evidence, and it'll only embarass her. Not least because they may decide to play it to the jury!!

Yeah, I phoned her earlier and told her I had a video of it and she just went quiet then said she didn't believe me so I sent her the video. I'm hoping that will be the end of it.

things you need to be sure of, 1) at no point did she say stop, 2)that she either instigated the sex, or you asked, and she consented( this rules out any chance of her using the she didnt know what was going on/was to drunk to function excuse). if those 2 things happened, then the long and short of it is, its not rape, and your not guilty, unless shes got people backing her up, its your word versus hers and the cps will be unlikely to pursue it any further.

She didn't say stop, she instigated and she was totally sober. Cheers man

  8. Got introduced to a girl the other day by a friend, basically I ended up shagging her and now shes accusing me of rape, she has apparently done this quite a few times including to my uncle (which I only found out today), all of her friends have taken my side as they have had enough of her. Obviously I didn't rape her but I did film her without her knowing, it basically shows me handcuffed to a chair and her on top of me pretty much proving I didn't. If she takes this to court then I'm going to show the video (its time/datestamped etc) to clear my name, anyone think there's any chance of me being charged with something different for filming her without consent? Anything's going to be better than being labelled as a rapist though.

  9. I'll be doing alot of riding. Sunny days at the resovoir or the quarry macking onto chicks, skinny dipping and generally being quite messy. Driving alot, and maybe get a few festivals in there but I'm definately doing awesomefest.

  10. Just spoke to matey, he'll be getting all his gear in about 2 weeks. As soon as that's all here I'll send out some PM's to the very generous people who said I could borrow their levers, and get moulding and making!

As for the disk protector, who would actually buy one? Also, I'd need a few people to confirm they'd buy a carbon ashton seat before making.

Regarding the Avid? lever or whatever one it was, do you mean the lever blade or the whole lever?

Anyone who is certain they'd want a lever, Please PM me with the lever you need.

If you're talking about the deore lever I asked about, then there is no point, I looked at it last night and its not replaceable. But I would want a carbon echo maggie lever.

  12. I've never used my lbs. When I was about 11 and just getting into racing xc my uncle gave me the haynes bike book and I learnt everything from that and just working things out for myself. I learnt to build wheels when i was about 15 from an article in ride bmx and looking at pre-built wheels. Learnt to service forks at about 15 too from just taking them apart and rebuilding them as I was just getting into dh, and I'm just learning how to service a shock now which will be quite handy when I get back into dh.

In my opinion it's just lazy to take it to your lbs and as someone already said, if you do that how are you ever going to fix a problem out on a ride.
