  1. What is your current drivetrain setup including rear hub?

Lol I'm gonna say he drivetrain is like all the working parts at the rear? Jeez ugh Im gonna say:

Gearset: SRAM 3.0 rear mech with SRAM 8 speed cassette

    Hubs: Shimano RM40

    Cassette: SCS141

    Rear Derailleur: Shimano Altus, 8-Speed

    Bottom Bracket: Shimano

Sorry if this is totaly wrong :)

  2. Yeah I know guys, ANOTHER thread, but I've got alot of questions which are constantly coming to me about products im after....

So this time its single speed, Im basically wondering what I need; what tools? best conversion kit? all other products needed....

Cheers to anyone who can even be bothered to read my posts anymore :turned:

  3. If you want to know if your parts will fit, you should probably tell us what parts you have...

it's only really brakes that have compatibility issues. you got hs33 on your bike at the moment?

No man, Tektro V-brakes that came with the bike, but im strongly thinking of just upgrading the Calipers on my front and rear wheel to Avid SD7's.

Ofcourse if this is stupid tell me, I'd rather look like an idiot than an idiot who wasted 60 quid :turned:

  4. Hey guys, Currently riding the diamondback tekiya and after reading around I've noticed the frames broke on ablot of people so I'm gonna prepare for what's probably to come.

So using the large amount of free time I have I thought I'd go on tarty and look at 26" frames.

    From what I saw the best reletivly cheap frame I saw was the ZOO! Piranha, just got a couple of questions about it;

What's better for a beginner short or long?

Will it fit with all my other parts?

Is it strong enough for a beginner who will probably crash and bash around a lot?

    Cheers, Callum.

  5. What about in comps what would it be classed as? Like what section would you ride under 20" or 26"?

Even though I haven't riden one, I guess you wouldn't really use on as they seem more street and trick. To be honest I'd much rather use a 20" in a natural course than a 24" This is all going by videos of 24's as i haven't rode one;]

  6. Hey im back again with more questions :giggle: Im sure your all annoyed with me posting more questions but y'no everyone starts somewhere. Here we go then....

1: How do you 'rock' I can endo then lift the front back up but cant bounce again, if you get me? If you don't i'll try to say a better way later.

2: Pivoting endo? I can get the bight to move around 45 degrees at the most to the right, cant go to the left at all, how do I?

3: Okay so I pedal and pull up but I can't actually hold it I either keep pedalling or I slap my front wheel down, how do I hold myself on the beack wheel?

4: Yep I still cant do the whole 'back wheel without brake' thing, any more help? I know how to do it, you push the pedals back and up at the same time, I just cant ^_^>_<

    Much appreciated guys :)

  7. i have just signed up so first things first i would just like to say hello to everyone and say how much i like the site. had a quick look around and very impressed with all the information and advice on here

been looking at getting into trials for ages now and the time is right now but i have a few questions to ask before i get a bike.

main question is about the bike its self. been looking at the sizes and im not sure which size to go for. not struck on the 20" so the choice is between 24" and 26". are there any major differences between them?

as im only just starting im not looking at spending to much on the bike so does anyone know anywhere to get a cheapish bike? or if anyone on here is selling one in the manchester area please let me know

thanks in advance for any advice

    paul

I'll try to give you as much as I know (not alot) hope it helps you out.

I think that mod is easier to learn on and stock offers more variety as you get better.

I really think you should have more of a look at mod if your not exactly tall. In my opinion you should try out all three and see which one you want. I believe the main difference with 24 and 26 is what your want to do? Not sure though.

I'd say don't limit yourself to something under 200 or a certain price as your not going to get your moneys worth. A good starter would be an Onza Bird or Blade (mods.) Maybe just search around tarty bikes? tartybikes Of course you have the option to buy a really cheap second hand bike off ebay and either ride that or restore it.

    Callum.

  8. Hey guys, Callum here just took up trials and I've got a few questions which I just can't seem to find the answers to. Sorry if these questions are really simple and make me look like an idiot but y'no everyone's gotta start somewhere.

1: Are double V-brakes alright or will I have to upgrade?

2: How do you lift up the back wheel without front brake?

3: How to you get your front wheel high enough to pedal kick?

4: Why does everyone hate Diamondback? for some reason everytime I read about the Tekiya (my bike) it's got bad reviews everywhere and I personally love it, probably because I have only ever riden one trials bike.

    Thanks guys.

  9. Hey guys, my names Callum. I recently took up trials (I say recently but i mean about 1 week ago.) I currently have a Diamondback Tekiya. It seem's alright unlike me :) Other than attempting trials i enjoy football, going out with my mates and just educating myself, I hope to become very active on this website and at trials.
