  8. Depends a lot on what rims, different pads suit grind-ed rims or smooth rims differently. I run the orange coloured pads on a grind-ed rim to great effect Calum
  9. The metal tpa's are 20 times better than the standard plastic ones, sponginess sounds like a bleed or piston issue, the fact there's not many mechanical parts in the brake system actually makes them really simple to maintain with a limited knowledge. I also fitted the braided hoses rather than the standard black plastic hoses which makes a difference to the whole feel of the brakes. Calum
  10. Would depend if you have the mountings on the wheel for a disk for a start. I personally like the rim brake (HS 33), i feel disks can be more vulnerable to damage if you fall. Just my two pennies worth Calum
  11. Sounds very like your piston in the master cylinder(part on the handlebars) has jammed,or you have a leak of fluid somewhere and there is not enough fluid in system. Is your system filled with proper fluid or water? I had a problem with my sons and it turned out needed new piston as old one had swollen(probably as system had been filled with water by previous owner of bike). Replacing piston is dead easy 10 min job then re-bleed(not with water as no lube in system which is not good for piston. Tarty supply piston & spring set for magura hs33'S at £9 posted (bargain buy) Hope this helps Calum
  12. I know all about that with a 16 yr old heavily into bmx and a weight weeny I have a range of bmx's, i prefer the mid school ones with brakes fitted Just had my first breakage on the trials (a snapped HS33 master cylinder/lever) My welcome to trials i suppose.
  13. Hi folks, just a quick hello. Into all things on 2 wheels....Motocross,bmx & recently trials. I'm the mechanic really a my son does most of the riding. I have 5 bmx's , 2 motocross bikes, 2 mountain bikes & recently bought an onza t-mag. More money i feel will be spent
