  1. lol that is nothing you should see some of the riders round here i wont name drop as theyre on here but theyre sponsored by tarty and they wont ride with us until we get better they'd rather ride on their own, this is just danny having a laugh a he was at the red bull street light sessions last month

"not going to name drop but they ride for tarty!" haha don't tell em pike! pritty much narrows down the need to guess which set of riders your refering too lol

  2. compared to most top riders he's hardly arrogant, when i met him he was letting kiddies ride around on his bike and showing them some tricks, positivly promoting the sport, MOST top SPONSORED riders ive met wouldn't give the kids with an interest in trials the time of day.

  3. I just wanted to add something to this thread,

I know loads of realy realy nice decent people who would never screw anyone over and always have the best of intentions!

doesn't change the fact there just f**king useless at most things and need to pull there finger out! :) :)

  4. ryan - did you get the postoffice to put the right amount of postage on the parcel? or did you put stamps on yourself. i was just thinking that if you put the wrong postage on the parcel wont be sent. i expect that the post office did put the right amount on if you have a receipt though, find the receipt and this can sort itself out, if the postoffice have lost it then the insurance on the parcel is probably worth more than the part lol

  5. Mark

the one im sending you guys back on monday aint just rattling a little. something inside is locking it up, getting caught up like a loose fragment of metal. I can unlock it manually and then spin it a few times before it locks up again, defo not ridable, anyways ill let you lads have a look in side it. it may be a bit of grit for all i know but i dont wana open the thing before you lads have had a look! :)

  6. Funny you should mention the SL, im in the process of returning one for tarty to take a look at. mine ran lovely for a month then as with you it trys to engage and makes a crunching sound when coasting along.

Point 1 - did you lube it up when you got it? SL comes with no grease, (very important you do this) GT85 all the way!

point 2 - did you find any little spots of oxidization on the outer case when you recieved it?

point 3 - can you hear anything rattling around inside the freewheel? when i took mine of the bike and shook it i could hear small fragemnts ratling around inside which suggests to me one of the pawls or bearings may have been below standard and failed. I have NOT opened mine up as im sending it bk as a warranty case.

  7. I use the longer version of the carbon downtube protector on my limey 3 stock. i have to use bits of folded innertube at the bb end as padding and then strap the protector to the frame with either cable ties or electric tape (tape is better)dont look the best but works great. im sure you can do something similar with the shorter protector on the mod version.

  8. funnily enough seeing martyn ashton made me think about when hawes used to ride. i remember going to watch that at a demo in exeter about 8-10 years ago when i was about 16. funnily enough martyn looks far younger now! lol go figure! lol

  9. I was running a 22-18 with Middleburns and I changed to a 20-16. Quite a nice set up. I have run 18-15 and it felt a little hard.

I ran 20 - 16 before my current setup of 18 ffw and 15 on the back fixed and i can honestly say that 18 -15 is way easier gearing than 20-16!

  10. Remember there are 2 tryall carnks that sound similar.

    *tryall isis

    *tryall expert isis

"tryall isis" are actually the better quality cranks but if you look on tarty the site has listed them as cheaper because one of the options lets you buy a single left hand arm for £40 lol its just how there site orders stuff. had a look a minute ago and they are the product above the expert on the web page. £101.00 a pair if you have the lettuce they are the better option. IMO :)

  11. yeah as others have said if the cylinders are physically moving out of place when tight then the mount bolts are bottoming out on the frame threads before the clamps have compressed on the cylinder. as the others said you may need to cut the bolts down or if you prefere find your nearest building merchant that sells specialist bolts and get a size between the originals and the brake boosters bolts.

  12. if your riding proper trialsy stuff then id go 18 ffw and 15 on the back. ive just changed from 18-14 which yes felt like i was getting more power but after changing to 18 - 15 im finding the bike alot more agile. personal preference realy.
