  1. Hei mate ;)

How long have you been riding?

  2. M.A.D. props mate At the moment I'm going single as my gears are wrecked and keep jumping I'll keep per standard freewheel for now..further on I might think of changing the whole wheel but there's a lot to learn before that So I'm getting 1/8" chain and this http://www.tartybike.../c48p10179.html tensioner plus single speed kit and 18T sprocket Let you know how it goes
  3. I'm going to scrap the gears but I've got no idea what chain I need as that is pretty crap too ^^
  4. One more question..does a freewheel with more clicks help when bouncing on the rear wheel? I find my cranks come up too high and eventually turn backwards when I hop and I lose balance.. Also: if one were to change his chain how would he know what measure his sprocket takes? 1/8", 1/16" or 1/32"? Also (again): better to get a fixed hub with an external freewheel or a hub with a freewheel built in? (price wise the first solution in greatly better)
  5. Mainly rotor diameter..a bigger one has a lever advantage over a smaller one
  6. Probably have to go single speed too..my gears keep jumping Just need to wait for tarty to get the yellow heatsinks available again and then I'll order I'll probably need a chain too..how do I know if my sprocket fits 1/8" or 3/16" or 3/32"?
  7. Why is a fixed hub with front freewheel so essential? Also don't you risk hitting the chain tensioner like you would the derailleur?
  8. I would just go with a good vee setup.. more powerful than maggies and easier to setup (much easier since your running adapters)
  9. But a vee costs less and is easyer to set up and service
  10. What do you guys think of a BB5 as a front brake?
  11. I wouldn't put maguras on a 2 clamp..they say that a good vee is better in this case
  12. I agree on the practice I got really frustrated yesterday morning because I couldn't balance on the rear wheel..I tried again in the evening and was hopping in no time I don't think I'll grind the rim..it won't hold I think..it's just a nameless rim I'll get a pair of good cables, a new lever for the back and yellow pads..then it should all be great! I can wait to change the pedals..I don't really like them and they're slippery but brakes first EDIT: do you think the BB5 I got is a good brake?
  13. Any particular shop in the UK or better in ireland that sells the odyssey linear slick cables for a good price? Just for curiosity..how much does a great cable like this change the brakes against a normal stock cable? And I saw there is the Linear SLS Slic cable too..would that be even better?
  14. Anyone know what would be a good cable to get for a back vee and a front disk? How much difference would a good cable make in braking vs a stock cable?
  15. Not a problem really..If you're getting vee's they're really easy to fit..follow this video Only problem arises when your rim isn't true..but there are tutorial to fix that too even if it's a bit more complicated Mechanical disks are quite easy too..all you need to do is follow the manual They must be in good condition because a bent rotor could make you go mad I've no idea about maggies because I've never had them.. Hydraulic discs in my opinion are quite easy..just need to follow the manual and be sure to bleed them properly Here also a bent rotor can make you nuts In the end it's just a few bolts and knowing what you're doing..nothing impossible

    Video Project

Tomorrow I'll try and film something
  17. Yeah I'm happy about the bike..next week the new front brake's arriving but I'm sticking with vees for the back Do they make plastic backing for the vee yellows? On tarty they only have the aluminium ones Only thing now is that I suck badly at riding it
  18. What mix of water/antifreeze would you use? Or would just distilled water be best?
  19. Ok got it A guy is offering me a back HS33 with braided hose , pads and mounts for 20£..it needs bleeding and the lever spring changing Shall I just get that instead of new pads for the vee? (the pads alone are nearly 20£ for the vee ) Anyway would using a scourer on the rim help? would yellow pads be ok anyway?
  20. Ok I'll think about TNNs..also which are good cables?
  21. Just got mine for 100£+shipping on pinkbike (and it's a fairly decent bike)..that's the best place to look
