  1. Ordered it from Treadz. It said they had it in stock on their website, but got an email from them today saying it's out of stock. They say it'll be back in stock this week though so hopefully wont be waiting too long!!! Chain Reaction Cycles sell it for the same price (£44.99) but they've only got the 36 hole hubs in red.

  2. yeah im thinking of getting a new rim too because its cheaper to get a new hub and rim than getting a freehub and then you can get more engagement points.

I decided to get a DMR Revolver fixed hub and use the existing rim (it's only a week old, seems a waste not to!) and use it with a ACS Claw freewheel, which has 36 engagement points. Picked up a cheap Onza tensioner from rock n roll bikes too. It's cost £68 all together.

  3. on my 1.2 i counted the engagement points and there's 18! im getting a new hub pretty soon.

Hahahaha! I did the same thing yesterday, slightly worrying isn't it! Counted 48 on my Hope hub, It's only got 32 holes though so I couldn't use it (N)

  4. I run a singlespeed DMR Revolver hub on the back of my Zoo!, Never had any trouble with it, get that and a good freewheel :)

Glad you said that because I ordered it earlier! Hoping that it turns up tomorrow as my current hub is s**te! I've ordered a ACS claw 18t freewheel too and a dirt cheep onza fixed tensioner, but I'll probably upgrade to a sprung tensioner when I've got the money.

    Thanks for everyones feedback (Y)

  5. I was using the 15t a lot too, but I find it easier to lift the front wheel without moving forward with the 18t so I tend to stick to that now.

I read somewhere that short tensioners were better because they're lighter and smaller so you're less likely to catch them. Can anyone tell us if thats true?

  6. Another question about upgrading my Phase I'm afraid.

The lack of engagement points on my drivetrain is realy bothering me, so I've decided to buy a new hub. I'd like to keep the cassette for now, but change to a single speed later. Can anyone recomend a hub that'll do both? I'm looking to spend around £50.

    Thanks...

  7. Cheers for that. Think I might get someone to build the wheel for me. Seems a faily straight forward job, just dont think ive got the patience for it! Gunna go for the 22:18 ratio because I'm pretty sure the stock chain ring has 22t. Checking out rock n roll bikes now.

  8. First of all hi to everyone here, I'm new to the site and new to trials! I got my first trials bike yesterday (a Phase 1.1), and love it! The only thing that's bothering me is that the drivetrain takes ages to engage. I gather this is down to the crappy hub. I've got a hope hub on my Chameleon that I was thinking of using with the Alex rim that came with the bike. Is it difficult to build a wheel? Or would I be better off getting a bike shop to do it, or even just buying a new wheel (I don't know if the Alex rim is any good).

Also, I'm thinking about going singlespeed at some point. What's the best gearing to use/ what gearing do you lot use?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  9. I'm 25. My Phase 1.1 is being delivered tomorrow :D

Been riding for around 15 years (xc, dj) but barely ridden for the last 5. Last week I joined this site, decided to sell my Santa Cruz Chameleon and buy a trials bike (something I've always wanted). Now I cant wait to get out riding again :)

It's good to see such a wide age range on here.

P.s are there any riders on here from the Somerset area?
