  1. 'Where's your seat? Do you ever forget you have no seat and try to sit down?' Well, obviously not, otherwise this would be a pretty shitty venture that i've gotten myself into! Besides, you can sit on the frame if you want to! I hate that question! As if i'd be both stupid enough to buy a seatless bike and then sit on the wheel!
  2. http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/30777/DMR_SingleSpeed_Rear_Hub Remembered to copy it this time...
  3. Found this one: Is it any good? I know which freewheel i'll be getting.
  4. Okay thanks for the tips guys. Don't really fancy buidling myself, so i'll just buy a hub and freewheel and get it fitted in a shop. And yes, i'm in norwich so i'll go to pedal revolution, and DEFINITELY not halfords haha! Oh, i forgot to mention, my rim is annoyingly 36h, which means i'm having difficulty finding a hub...
  5. Seen that one already... Black rim is discontinued and a white rim would look stupid on my bike... Thanks though.
  6. I want a new freehub or freewheel. I am going to have to get a new wheelbuild really in order to get either. Which would likely be cheapest? I know if i go freewheel i'm likely to be able to get more engagements for less, right? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if i can do it for less than £150? Alternatively, any tips on a good stock fixed hub rear wheel for about £100? Any help appreciated! I'm running 26" btw! Oh, and i don't want front freewheel, if possible!
  7. So, i'm trying to be able to move around on the back wheel... with the aim of being able to like, jump up walls and stuff on the back wheel, but i can never seem to get any height off of it. i am trying to do the pedal kick thing where i let the front wheel drop and give a sharp quarter turn on the pedal? any ideas on how i can improve? thanks
  8. Yeah i have facebook - shawn pettigrew And i'm at uea - from yarmouth though.
  9. Saw someone riding in norwich today, on a something trials bike... it was a 26 inch i think with gold parts... was riding down rose lane. Whoever it was, nice bike Do you ride in norwich much? really want to meet someone to ride with haha!
  10. Brilliant! Yeah i've met a good few of the yarmouth riders, as i'm from yarmouth (at UEA now) Will definitely look to meet some people for a ride... I'm very amateur btw though
  11. Hey, was wondering if there are any riders in norwich as i would love someone to meet up with and compare notes and just to have company when riding thanks
  12. They do seem to have started behaving themselves now So i guess that's what it is, thanks everyone! If it does happen again, i'll try blue loctite
  13. Ahhh, i see! Yeah it is isis, thanks for that
  14. I have a 1.2 and my friend a 1.1 They are fantastic bikes, but (unless it's been done already) you will want to change it to single speed... the gears can get annoying haha
  15. So, i've had my phase 1.2 for about 2 months now... and recently a crank fell off, because it appears not to have been tightened properly... So i tightened it up, and it loosened again... I repeated this and it started to get loose again... Now i've tightened it again, and this time i've done it really tight, and it doesn't seem to be coming loose.. yet, Basically the question is, what's most likely to be causing this problem? As the thread in the BB and on the crank bolt both seem to be fine. Thanks
  16. I've only fallen off once... really embarrassing as i was going up a wall about 3 curbs high on a sunny day down the seafront, so it was very busy... my rear wheel slipped and i went sideways! not fun!
  17. When i got mine i had lots of problems with broken parts and had to send it back twice... did you by any chance buy it from Winstanleys? because as my experience recalls from buying my bike there, they will send it broken a few times before you get a good one... i had a bent rear hub, rear derailleur hanger, frame, chain snap, bent wheel skewers all before i managed to get a good bike So if that is where you bought it, i'd recommend just taking it to your lbs and getting it repaired mate
  18. Have a 1.2 myself. Would definitely recommend it... It seems really good to me, plus the fact it has gears allowed me to decide which cog i wanted for singlespeeding, which i am going to be doing very soon Fantastic ride in my opinion!
  19. Ahhh, that sounds quite good! I knew about the lowe rides, just wondered if there's many people closer
  20. I started between 1 and 2 months ago and bought a M.A.D phase 1.2 It's a pretty sweet bike and is allowing me to do significantly more than i could on my full sus mtb. You can get it on Winstanleys Bikes for £199.99 ( http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/17096/MAD_Phase_12_Trials_Bike_2010 ) It has gears as well, which frankly i have found excellent as it's allowed me to select the correct amount of teeth to convert to single speed. All round seems a pretty sweet bike to start with and is pretty good value as it has HS33s For £50 more you can get the 1.1... it's a little better and white.. really depends on yourself, my friend got that and it doesn't seem much different to me
  21. Hey, was wondering if there are any/many riders in Norwich, preferably close to the UEA, as hopefully i will be going there at the start of October, and i don't very much enjoy riding on my own Plus i like to meet other riders... I always find it helps me to learn new techniques.
  22. That's a brilliant way of explaining it. So thankyou, very helpful. I'll try that once i've fixed my crank
  23. Cool, me and ben will see you there!
  24. Sounds like a plan. I still want to meet up, even if we don't ride and just go hang out somewhere... Would be good to speak to some other riders. Didn't realise there were this many people round here
