Unfortunately as I'm not really ridig it anymore and need to put a deposit together for new family car it's had to go up on ebay. I'll be gutted to lose it but hopefully it might stand a chance of being ridden a bit more.

  2. This is my road/cross bike. On One Pompetamine with Kona P2 forks. Also now has Thomson stem and Hope floating rotor. Running a Hope trials hub with a Velosolo bolt on fixed cog at the moment but I'm planning on running it single speed with a rear disc soon. Might also get some flat bars and cross tyres for some light off road this summer. Prob get some middleburn cranks when I sell my geared road bike.

  3. Nice little vid. Skid on the scaffold pole was cool. Love quirky little tricks like that. Reckon you jus need a bit of old ply on that sand and you'd be good to go. Nice bike too. What is it? I'm really starting to think I might have to go 24"

  4. Spamming up the forum with a whole load of "Ban G" posts was a pretty stupid way to go about getting banned. Could have just posted up a load of top quality porn. Reckon he probably woulda left on better terms with everyone that way :)

  5. I learnt this lesson the hard way when I was younger. Was in broad daylight too. Neither house or car insurance would pay up unless it was locked securely to something inside the car, which it wasn't. Hope you have better luck.

  6. Always lose the 'special' link, use a normal link with a normal tool with the right technique. Mark the links you joined, if it snaps you can tell if it's because you're a retard or not ;)

Good tip, even though I already know I'm a retard, at least now I can keep an eye on the one slightly weaker link in my chain.

  7. Are you serious? It's been said like 5 times that these hubs DO NOT come with GREASE in the ratchet/pawls.

I thought they were just oiled too but to be fair I opened mine up to find it had grease in it, which I did mention I think.

Thanks for everyones replies. Hopefully I'll have time to dismantle it agin at the weekend and clean up the freehub to make sure there's no debris in there but I'm really thinkin it must be the seal, for none of the pawls to be engaging.

  8. Seriously, if you are going to start a clothing company, the first thing you need is good designs. I appreciate the guy has clearly got drive and has got his t shirts out their but all the designs, especially the summer 2012 range, are super average.

  9. Ah, if there are no noises then it won't be skipping. Suggests sticky freehub, possibly dead bearing, missing spacer or seal not seated correctly.

I did originally say it was slipping but someone suggested I meant skipping. I've clearly got the terminology wrong but when I put the power down it seems to skip a few teeth on the ratchet but only every now and again. The hubs only a few weeks old so shouldn't be a knackered bearing or missing any spacers. I'm thinkin now it must be something up with the seal.

  10. Sorry, so did I. There's no loud bangs or anything. It's just like it's not engaging and then suddenly it engages. Seems impossible for a hub with two sets of offset pawls but it's happening. Wonder if it's something to do with the seal. It's the only thing I can think of that could affect all four pawls, even if it's just for a second. Plan to dismantle it again at the weekend and clean it all so I can have a really good look at everything.
