Ok , so here is the score... I am doing a project for school that involves biking (teacher's idea). There are various 'concepts' within the video, but those don't really matter. The main plan is to have a mountain biker, in this case Scott Laughland, doing some trails/enduro riding. But my teacher also insisted on showing the urban side of bike riding. So I decided to have a look into getting someone that rides a trials bike, but does so in a smooth flowy fashion. This rider would be doing a range of trials based street riding, not too dissimilar to the style that Danny Mac has so famously ridden with. Basically hoping between walls, onto walls and that sort of thing. But also dropping of a set of stairs whilst doing a 180 or 360 or for example 'spinning' off the edge of a wall... (I know no technical terms) Essentially the trials section of the video would be a completely different segment and not at all linked to the mountain trail riding. The only bit that, as Ross mentioned, would be I suppose similar, are in places to link the two different disciplines together. A way of doing that would be to shoot Scott riding or dropping down a bank of roots or rock, and then film the trails riding dropping down a set of stairs or something similar. There is not a close similarity in this, but the idea is that both roots and stairs (as an example) involve a drop and essentially stairs are the urban equivalent of roots... The reason for filming in Edinburgh is simple, I live here, and it is easy for me to get to the centre and surroundings - especially with me still being at school. So really, I am looking for someone that can ride fairly technical and I suppose challenging terrain, but also does so smoothly. As you can probably tell, I know nothing about trials, or street riding and have never filmed it!
