PRIMER IT FIRST!!!! well after you have sanded it so its rough or scratched then primer it with grey primer then spray black If you want it to last ages coat it 3 times then lacquer it 2-3 times but only if u want it to last

Just give it a light sanding to remove the shine then primer grey it and spray black it should be fine in normal weather.
