  1. Thanks for the guide adam....i've already tried most of that (connected a pump and rebled + lubed pistons....the problem is the pistons.

if i depress the lever, it is really hard to push one piston in if i wanted to get the other piston right out... (Y) they are just really stiff.

    the pump thing is fun!

  2. thanks for the replies......"Re-bleeding dosn't do anything. (Or it shouldnt). Have no TPA, and set the brakes up again."

that doesn't help- TPA or not...pistons move (in) real slowly.

hopefully when i get home tonight the bike spray will have worked some magic...it's been in it since this morning.

  3. I went for a particularly muddy and wet ride on sunday and my bike turned into a big brown cake. Of course, my brakes went terrible....

Cleaned the mud off and regreased some bearings but my rear brake (magura hs33) moves really slowly and is almost always on (because the slave comes out but doesn't move back!

I've tried putting bike spray all over the piston, and i've rebled it, but the slave is still really slow. I've taken the slaves off and filled them with bikespray to try and loosen them up a bit....but when i pull the piston out with pliers it is still really stiff and moves back pretty slowly.

I've been running it on water and its been fine for about a year....the brake is about 3 years old in total- is it knackered? I wondered if i can actually take the piston out to give it a right good cleaning up? Can i do that? how?

    any other ideas?

    cheers,

    adam

  4. thriftwood...ockendon.....weald park.....other country parks (although it really is NATURAL trials there- trees that fell over during the night, streams, ditches etc).

I heard the mid-essex gravel pit was good- not been there though...

thriftwood is a 15 min ride from ma house so just PM me if you are gonna go and i can direct you and get some other people out!

  5. Does anyone know the pitch on (drive side) a pedal thread (and any other information about the thread if you know it!).

A mate has stripped the thread in his crank but his dad is an engineer and is making an insert (bit like the tensile one) to replace it. Only thing is- he can't work out what the pitch of the thread is..

    cheers,

  6. It sounds like "cool web search"....it is basically a particularly nasty thing that gives birth to itself every time you start up and does all the redirecting and crap you mentioned....

You need CW shredder...i'll google it for you- edit to come.

'tis nasty and norton usually can't deal with it...

Yeah Thriftwood makes a nice day- about 5 decent sections (rest is mud really) and we've set up some of the man-made stuff over there into a "trials park".

Here's pics of the manmade stuff:

  8. I hear that Exeter are full time too.....so they're not just any Saturday club- big pay difference between the teams I must admit, but hey- it is big business.

Must have been damn windy- the Exeter keeper kept kicking the lenght of the pitch!

  9. I had this...but my tool was a cheap dicta one- i just bent the prongs inwards a bit with a hammer. Let's face it- why would you want to use to tool for any other freewheel? The eno is your baby now- make your tool fit it!
