I need advice on which bike to buy. I am looking at a Planet-X Alibongo, an Echo Urban Trials bike and an Echo Pure. All are priced within $100 of each other. The Pure has no seat. They are all 26" complete bikes. Does anybody have any advice on which one I ought to buy? I know a lot of it is personal opinion but maybe people on this forum have actually ridden these specific bikes and can offer me their two cents. About 15 years ago I was madly into mountain biking after buying an original Fat Chance. I rode single track and urban trials assaults as often as possible...started wrenching at the shop that sold me my Fat Chance. Decided I wanted something smaller so when I found out Fat City Cycles was trying to unload one of their super limited edition Trials Fat Chance frame set I jumped on the chance. It is an awesome mountain trials frame. 26" front wheel 24" rear, 72 degree head and 72 degree seat angle with almost 14" of bottom bracket clearance. A bit squirrelly on the downhill but climbed like a mo'flicker. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and suddenly I've been bitten by the trials bug and man, don't these new fangled trials bike just look sick. I have been scouring the for sale section of this forum, pinkbike.com, ebay and lots of different Craigslist sites around the country looking for my next toy. My five year old daughter just learned how to ride a bike. I want a trials style bike I can just tool around on with my daughter during the day and then go out out night for urban assault rides. I don't plan on competing or even doing anything that gnarly....urban assault styler....picnic tables, retaining walls, etc...not dirt jumping, no skate parks...just tooling around and trying to have some fun. So what gives?? Everybody likes to give their opinions and we all have me...so seasoned trials riders....what is your opinion? I need to make a decision by the end of the weekend. Thanks for helping!
