  1. Yep years ago, about 15yo, I'd had a puncture, had the nut type axle on my front wheel, and never tightened them up, went out on it the next time, steaming down the road and lifted the front wheel to go up a kerb, and the inevitable happened, I ended up using my face to stop me. Hence why I'd rather not chance it again!
  2. It's a difficult one to say, I'm a home mechanic on cars so know a bit about bearings etc. and I'd definitely rather get it sorted, especially being the front wheel,if it locks up when I'm riding, its not gonna be nice Cheers for the replies guys
  3. Cheers guys, had a look on the tarty site for the balls but they only have another's makes, will they fit my hub http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/hub_spares/weldtite_ball_bearings/c22p11503.html Here's a pic of my hub
  4. The front hub on my bike us a but notchy, can they be rebuilt or is a new hub needed? Cheers mike
  5. The bike I've just bought had a nearly bald front tyre, so was looking about for a new one and came across chain reaction selling them for 16 quid, thought I'd share it if anyone's after one.
  6. Funnily enough I saw those on eBay but dismissed them as being some cruddy type protection, but the review sounds good. Ill check those out, Keep the suggestions coming please, cheers mike
  7. Just checked on the website again and they only have small and Xl in stock grrrr
  8. Do you find them hot? A few reviews said they were, but maybe their just comparing without shin guards!
  9. Hi guys after years of riding with spd's, I'm not sure i want to go back to the pain of pedals hitting my shins so how many of you guys wear them? Was looking at some 661 rhythms for 15 quid, anyone know much about them/use them? They seem quite unobtrusive and lightweight. Cheers mike
  10. Nice ill get some from tarty bikes cheers mike
  11. I did a search on which pads to get but to be honest got a little lost with it all. Ill get some sorted. Cheers mike
  12. Cheers bing. That makes sense. I've only just bought it today and its my first trials bike so not sure on some stuff, but from what I can tell its an onza wheel, with a grind. It's a tpro, so I'd imagine its the origianal wheel?? It is a bit of nuisance setting the pads up though, a bit fiddly, like v brakes, I thought id done with all this when I got a disc mtb a few years ago :0 Ps not sure on the year I imagine its the early one Oh pps. Got sorted with a booster from someone on here so that'll help
  13. Ok cheers, the rims have been ground, though the front seems well used since. I've tried resetting the rear pads up today, and its just a nuisance like v's were, much easier with disc Thanks again mike
  14. Just read up on here, did the bath bleed with water, first time and there sound as a pound now, just need to adjust the pads so there square with the rim. ( I hated doing this with v's :0. ) Cheers again Oh, the tpa screw doesn't really turn, I've read people saying when selling the mag brakes, "tpa works" or similar, so is this what happens when they don't work? Doesn't really matter either way as long as the brakes work, just out of interest? Cheers
  15. Ok also noticed its flexing the rear stays too as there's no booster, so that won't be helping either Ill get on google now and watch some videos. Cheers mike
