  1. The thing is, just because people do (roughly) the same sport doesn't mean that everyones automatically going to get on, there's still going to be clashes of personality.

I don't dislike TGS type riding, I think it can be pretty amazing. People like Matt Arkright are super good at TGS and I get on with him really well mainly because he's just a really nice guy. I've only briefly met Tunnicliffe but he seemed nice too.

The thing I don't like is when riders are inconsiderate to others (the public) which is something I've seen a few times.....mainly from northern riders. I was riding my home town once and one rider was attempting to sidehop a wall and kept on sliding to dropout, it was damaging the wall (not keen on that) and then an old man came over and politely asked him to stop as he was right next to the mans car. The rider told him to "f**k off" and then proceeded to stand over his bike, spin the wheel and honk his brake loudly for a while. I was embarrassed to be associated with that rider.

So yeah, don't think there's a hatred of types of riding from my behalf, I'm cool with watching any type of trials.

This also made me laugh, dunno who its about but it could well be about me or someone I ride with but Ive heard plenty of stories of you losing your temper when you was younger, threatening somebody with a brick when on a ride to be precise, fair enough people do stupid shit when they're 14, I look at some 14 year olds now and think wtf are they doing? thats all apart of growing up, just like you said before, you now wearing skinny jeans but bashing on people before is just apart of growing up/changing trends whatever, you might find yourself riding a bike without a seat again in the near future, it doesnt matter about the bike, its about the personality, I never used to have a problem with you to be honest, maybe me being a little shit when I was younger is why we dont get along but I'm over that, I come on the forum once every few months and still see the same shit going on.

  2. As if people still go on about what people wear when riding, used to bash on people for wearing skinnys, look who wears them now.

Might aswell buy some of these shorts now, youll be wearing them in 4 years time anyway.

    Grow up.

Sick riding, raw clips are better than edited ones imo.

  3. Have a read. If you don't realise how childish you sound then there's not a lot else I can say.

Anyway, sorry for bumping a tat video.

How is me saying "Youre moaning about the production? its not being shown on tv/dvd you know, its just a trials video on youtube, you obviously havent seen any of the really old videos which are filmed on mini dv camcorders by one of the riders mates/tripod.. Who cares." childish? :S.

I was respoding to his comment which I didnt agree with and felt was completely out of order, the filming really wasnt that bad.

  4. Yes, I most definitely did take it to heart, because it's people like you saying things like this that is rending trials.

There's the whole "bigger picture" scenario to consider that is much more pertinent, but even if you entirely remove that from the equation and go for pure, simple selfishness, it makes it very difficult for riders like me that like to do a bit of everything to enjoy riding to the fullest.

You tell the "big BMXers" that "they're not trials", which they may or may not care about but understandably resent the baseless rejection so don't want to ride with you, so people in the middle have to ride with one side or the other.

Very rarely do you get to ride with both, or other people that equally enjoy doing manually spin lines as sessioning a sidehop wall. In fact, I think I can count the number of riders I've met like that on one hand.

I know several "big BMXers" that are quite offended when they're told that they can't be a part of your secret little club called "trials", and others that acknowledge that the last time they did a sidehop was 2008 and couldn't care less if they ride what you consider to be "trials" or not.

Personally, I'm one of the latter. I couldn't give two hoots if you think I deserve to reside in the "trials" domain or not, but I despise watching the loud-fingered's warmongering.

What the hell is wrong with you lmao, me saying that i dont like inspired videos isnt gonna stop you doing whatever you want is it? build a bridge.

  5. Well that shouldn't be too much of an issue in that most of those "big BMXs" have Avids, Hopes or Shimanos, don't they?

Many BMXers have brakes closer to a Magura than "big BMXs" - some even use Heatsinks!

Seriously - just lay this "argument" to rest. It's boring and gets no-one anywhere.

Yes, I put pointedly put the word "argument" in inverted commas. Take note of that.

Now - I'll go ride my BMX, you go ride your unicycle and lets try to forget this unpleasantness.

You woke up on the wrong side of the bed or summet? No wonder I got told youre a freak haha.

In no way did I say anything offensive, I said I enjoyed the video, think you took the fact I said big BMX to heart a little bit :giggle:

  6. The "something" would probably be the fact it's nothing like an "Inspired video" ;)

Just that he does shit loads of manuals and 360s and has no brakes most of the time makes it feel like an inspired/bmx video, dont get me wrong i love bmx videos, just not people riding big bmx's with maguras.

  7. This wasn't filmed by a riders mate on his mini dv though? Looked more like a promo video to me. Could pretty easily link you a few vids made by people of there mates on here for the love of it and they're considerably better!

Doesnt mean to say it is, I can also link you to a better video than this? doesnt mean that the standard of every video needs to meet the best video youve ever seen does it? its not like it was terrible quality and really badly filmed with a nokia 3310i and a guy with parkinsons, literally the pickiest thing you could of commented on, im all up for constructive criticism and probs so is the guy who made it but it really wasnt as bad as you made out to be, from the "production" point of view.

  8. Can't deny that some of the moves were spectacular and great for a crowd but it all seems to be style over substance.

And I don't know if it's just YouTube that's raped the quality but the production wasn't great.

Youre moaning about the production? its not being shown on tv/dvd you know, its just a trials video on youtube, you obviously havent seen any of the really old videos which are filmed on mini dv camcorders by one of the riders mates/tripod.. Who cares.

  9. You were talking about talking off of a slope, not rolling down it. Make up your mind! Bite yes, will help you lock the wheel. But when taking off of a slope your wheel would be locked and static already, the hold of the pads would be holding the wheel static as it is already locked.

You've contradicted yourself, I understand what you were trying to say; but at no point when taking off of a slope do you require bite, to get to the setup and lock the wheel yes. But that wasn't what you were talking about. Setup and take off are two different moves.

Jeeez, that's bizarre. I really hate to say it but there must have been something wrong with your setup or something. They really are awesome pads! You weren't running tar like you are now? What rim were you running? Just curious :)

I meant when taking off from static on a slope, rolling up to the rear wheel, not already on the back wheel.

EDIT: How can you say I need to make up my mind, I said "taking off" that for me means standing on your bike, getting on the rear wheel, not already being on the rear wheel preloading for a gap :S, else id of said preloading.

  10. Were you running grind? I've just never known anyone to get proper Cousts performing something other than awesome; bite and hold in pretty much any conditions is what they're known for! The fact that you could get neither from these pads would suggest you were doing something wrong...

I understand what you're trying to say, but you were talking about taking off of a downslope not rolling down one. When you're taking off of a downslope then your wheel is already locked, bite has already taken place and the holding force of the pads is what is holding your wheel still prior to take off. Bite is literally how quickly the pad will lock the wheel, hold is what keeps it from slipping.

Yeah exactly, so imagine you had no bite, you wouldnt get to the hold situation without any bite ;) youd be flat on your arse, especially if your wheel is rolling fast, depending on how steep the slope is.

  11. You're doing something wrong!

You want hold on a down slope, that's exactly what you want. Who would want brake slip on a down hold through not having enough hold?!

But i mean you want the bite when rolling downhill, because if youve got no bite it will slip, hold is for when your hanging off a wall with the opposite force, dunno if im explaining well but whatevs, bite makes your brake work when rolling down hill, hold makes it work the other direction.

  12. What you're saying doesn't really make sense. On a slope hold is what the brake requires.

Anyway, always had absolutely savage brakes. Can't go wrong with cousts, yellows, adms and trialtech pads.

Not if the slope is downhill lol.
