  1. Morning guys, Im after a picture of a tensile crank (the one with the indents that used to chew every ones ankles) with a screw on cog and no bashguard - from straight on if possible.

If anyone has anything on their computer or in their garage i would really appreciate it! or any cranks that look similar, its for a tattoo design.

    Thanks a lot.

Forgot to say, with the pedal on still aswell! thankyou

yeah, that's definitely sound advice here...

Why isn't it? He's a qualified physio who's been known to help many high level trials riders and is always very happy to help for free over the phone/ on chat...

Nope, only ever broken my ankle

Theres a guy who used to be on here called Simon Lord, I know hes helped a lot of riders with injuries in the past and when I damaged my heels last year he called me off facebook and was able to give me a pretty good diagnosis based on photos and stuff, might be worth giving him an add on facebook before you shell out on a physio or something..

Think I may need to go to the doctors. I've noticed before a lump on both my shoulders (can just see in the pic) mainly when I've done back squats and put it down to just inflammation from the bar resting there but after having a read this morning it looks like it could be an injury I picked up without realising on my AC joints.

I don't get any shoulder pain (did do years ago) and after reading about it I can't weigh up whether or not there's anything that can be done about it. Either way I'm best getting it looked at!

    Ever broken your collar bone?

    Groan.

Whenever I've washed trainers they always come out and don't feel like they fit the same ever again. One of my housemates last year washed his trainers in the washing machine each time he went for a run (once a week), I'm sure the weight of two wet shoes was making the washing machine jump around the kitchen.

Two wet trainers would probably weigh less than a pair of jeans mate....

I usually just do it with a normal load so they arent bouncing around in there.

Applying for internships is tedious, it also seems nobody can design a decent application page either.

Don't ask me how my degree is graded, (ie. 1st, 2:1, 2:2) then demand I also provide my Grade Point Average, I don't f**king know.

Anyone hold a major roll in an investment bank and fancy taking me on for 10 weeks?

mate its genuinely the hardest, most degrading process ive been through. Spending a day on an application to get a rejection within hours. stick it out, email smaller boutique firms and then make sure you smash the interview (best way of prep is to download their last few annual reports and try and find out who they ''want to be'' etc.), i managed to get a work exp. placement with a pretty large uk bank this summer which led onto a few weeks paid and then finally a grad scheme offer for next year. the pay and perks have made that all worth it already mate.. and if you have to, lie.

  7. cool thanks mate ill give that a try, go up in those 5 minute intervals or just what feels ok?

And what would you say about how often to train? I was planning on carrying on at the gym 3 times a week (no cardio) and running outdoors twice, with an HIIT skipping session one morning aswell. Timewise i could fit all that in plus a sprint session but do you think that would be taking on too much? could swap the skip for sprints.

  8. Are there any runners on here? Basically Ive set myself a target to run a route about 13 miles (bristol to bath railway path). I'm currently pretty comfortable running my usual 5k route in 22ish minutes but have never run any further than that..what's the best way to add to this, is it simply a case of adding a kilometre on each time?

Not really set myself any time constraints but I'm finishing uni here in May, so ideally before that..

    Cheers

  9. Hi guys, I'm after a pair of riser bars for my fixie, what's reccomended? And is it possible to cut down carbon bars without the weave unravelling? (I'm a flashy loser).

Currently on a pair of drops and I've realised I've never used the drop in my life.

    Here's a pic:

    Cheers guys

  10. Lol,

    how fast you want mate?

It depends on the market but I believe you'll be getting the entry level Giulietta for 10k unless you're willing to get one with around 50k miles on the clock.

Think about what you want in terms of power, MPG, boot capacity, etc and I'm sure people can give some recommendations.

The more modern Fords are likely to be a good shout, as they are crazy fuel efficient and suitably cheap that you could probably get a very new one.

Nothing amazingly fast, a bit of nip would be nice but as long as its comfortable to do a 2 hour motorway slog at 90 im not too bothered. What mileage is considered a lot when youre spending a substantial amount? The last car i bought was a £700 106 so anything under 100k was in the range....

Roughly speaking 2 litre, 40MPG (Is that low these days), big enough boot to sling a bike in the back with the front wheel off without scratching the thing/having the handlebars in my face.

Looking at the current trends on here this is all pointing directly at LCR/a3 direction??

Real quick look on autotrader and it would be something along these lines probably..http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201503121660686/sort/default/page/2/make/alfa_romeo/radius/1500/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/price-to/11000/postcode/bs137hr/quicksearch/true/price-from/9000/model/giulietta/usedcars?logcode=p

  11. got 10 grand ish to spend on a car, looking for a relatively new (2010ish) 5 door hatchback that i can pretty much just buy and drive for 5 years with little problems.

at the moment im looking at those volvo hatchbacks or the alfa guiletta.(know nothing really about cars)

    any reccomendations?

  12. So, all things going to plan I'll have a trials bike sorted by this weekend, I live in Bristol and am looking for some locals to ride with ideally! I'm completely out of touch with the trials scene but when I left (about 8 years ago) this place was teeming with riders! Is this still the case? I'm pretty versatile for spots having lived a pretty tgs orientated trials life but been a bmxer since so will go anywhere.

Any regular/localish riders let me know or add me on facebook Joe Elding.

    Cheers
