  1. Just wondering but, is the garden very close to the football ground where we are riding? I'm most likely being an idiot again but aside from it being a place in memory of DJ, is it like a big place where everyone'll gather first and talk etc. before heading into the Abingdon football ground to ride the pallets?

    hope the weathers good! :)

    The garden is on the same road as the football ground. It is approx another 400 meters on the right hand side.

    The official opening is 10.00am which we know will be difficult for alot of you to get to...but we are aware that many of you would still like to go and see it sometime during the day. It is accessable all day so we can organise some times to go and see it or you could pop in and see it before you get riding!!!

    We are very proud to have finally completed it and would love as many of you as possible to see what all the fundraising has been for.

    See you on the 3rd - this Saturday!

    Love Sue :deej::bunny::deej:

  2. Hi

    Yes it is Radley Station, first stop after Oxford and before Didcot.

    From Radley station you turn left (there is a pub on the corner)head towards Abingdon. When you get to the first roundabout (approx 1 mile from station) turn right - at the next roundabout turn left - heading for the town centre- ride for approx 1/2 mile when you get to the traffic lights there should be the Boundary House Pub on the left, you need to take the turning on the right into Northcourt Road and Abingdon United Football Club is on the corner. We will be in there for the ride.

    For the Opening of the garden (which is at 10.00 for those of you who can make it for then) you need to carry on down Northcourt Road approx 1/2 mile - on right hand side you will see Fitzharrys School (if you get to the College you have gone too far). Enter the school site and the memorial garden is on the right hand side near the carpark.

    Don't worry if you can't make the opening, if you would like to see the garden we can arrange for small groups to go during the day.

    We look forward to seeing you there.

    Love Sue

  3. Some of you may not have heard of DJ (David Jones). He was a Senior member of this Trials Forum up until the 14th May 2004...when his life was cut short by joyriders.

    On the Saturday 3rd June there is going to be a Memorial Ride/Opening of the Memorial Garden which has been built due to the help and support of DJ's family and friends through buying/selling of Fluffy Bunny Movement Tees and hoodies, fundraising events etc.

    You are all welcome to join us for the day at Abingdon United Football Club, Northcourt Road, Abingdon.

    The nearest station is Radley Station which is 1 1/2 miles from the football ground. More details of directions will be posted nearer the time.

    Hope to see some of you there for what is going to be a day where you can enjoy the sport you all love so much, knowing that the equipment is there just for you!!! Pallets, skips, planks and large cotton reels... plenty for all.

    Hope to see some of you there.

    Please post on if you are interested in attending....there is also going to be a pig roast on the day(for a small charge)

    Love Sue :deej::bunny::deej:

  5. Yeah, sounds like a plan. Thanks loads for doing this Rich, super good of you :)

    Does anyone know what time the garden's opening then? Is there any official sorta unveiling ceremony?

    Yes there is going to be an official ceremony in the morning...might be too early for a few of you....10.30am!

    What i thought was the official part with the school dignitaries etc can happen early then we could all get to the school for 3.00pm for a few minutes silence...this is only an idea at this moment in time though so please keep an eye on this topic for an update nearer the time

    Thanks for making the effort to attend again this year, we are all looking forward to seeing how you are doing.

  6. Hi All

    Just wanted to find out from you how many people will be attending the Opening of the Memorial Garden and attending the ride on the 3rd June.

    On the day there will be a short ceremony opening the garden at Fitzharry's school...this is where all the money raised by you buying t-shirts, hoodies,stickers and badges has been used.

    Shortly after there is a ride at the football ground as before (lots of stuff to ride over, on etc) followed by a pig roast...

    SO I NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY ARE LIKELY TO ATTEND AS I NEED TO KNOW WHAT SIZE PIG TO ORDER!

    So post here to give me an idea.

    Happy riding

    Love Sue :deej::bunny::deej:

  9. I am glad to see that the DJ Southwest Trials Competition is getting under way this year. Who won it last year? I would love to hear from anyone who takes part telling me of their day, how it went, who was there etc.

    Although i am glad its happening, I think there might be a few sore heads on the 14th after the ride in Portsmouth. Timing could have been better.

  10. Im there! Work can get screwed for all I care, this will be another day to remember forever methinks! Im sorry we never got round to sorting DJ's video footage out Sue, im sure we will be able to sort it out in the end for sure! Any luck getting DJ's domain name off that nasty company who took it only to make hundreds of pounds im sure in getting it back?

    Jonny.

    Charlie is paying for the name but we don't know how to put anything up to create the website again.

    Maybe you could advise us?

  11. Glad to see that some of you are coming to the opening of the Memorial Garden on the 3 June - Saturday -

    Just to let you know that we have almost completed laying all the footpaths, building the wheel centre piece, and erecting the furniture. It would be great if you could let all the forum know of this event as it would be such a great tribute to DJ, and everyone who either helped by buying the t-shirts, hoodies, goodies and attending all the fundraising events held last year can see the end result of all their efforts to help with raising the money.

    Looking forward to the day when i can take a picture of all of you with the FBM logo in the background.

    Love Sue

  12. Hi All

    Longtime no hear. We have been really busy organising the Memorial Garden here in Abingdon for DJ. We are in the process of building the garden and are hoping to plant it out over the next few weeks. Thanks for all of you who supported this project either by buying the FBM t-shirts, hoodies, wristbands or attending some of the fundraising events we held last year, we eventually managed to raise £5,000!!!

    We are looking to hold a day full of fun starting with the opening of the garden at Fitzharry's school here in Abingdon, with a competition at Abingdon United soon after....and of course there will be a PIG ROAST again!

    Anyone who is interested in attending will need to book this into their diaries so not to be disappointed!

    ABINGDON JUNE 3RD - ALL DAY

    We would also appreciate some help from a few of you to build a course, so please contact me asap.

    Love to see you all again, we had a really good turn out last year (despite some rain) and would love to do it again.
