You're going to have a nice view!
Just curious, how deep do you have to dig the foundation in that area? (I can't tell from the pic.)
Here (Eastern Canada) have to dig at least 6' down. -

In terms of age, you can do it at any age! The good thing about trials is there's lots of mini 'wins' to have along the way - whether that's doing your first backhop, doing 4 or 5 in a row for the first time, doing your first bike length gap or doing some huge moves, there's lots of little victories you get that help keep it all fresh and interesting. As a result, it doesn't matter what age you're at or what level you're at, it'll still be fun. Realistically as you get older the chances of you being the next Danny MacAskill/Fabio Wibmer/whoever diminish, but if you're just doing it to have fun that's irrelevant.
All of what Mark said. I started trials just over 2 years ago at age 56. Continuous very small improvement on the trials bike has really helped my mountain bike skills, which was my original goal. Slowwww-speed/stopped riding and body position transfers well to riding MTB on bumpy bedrock. I put a lot more time on the MTB, but enjoy all the micro wins on the trials bike too.

In my limited experience (Echo 24"), I am not impressed with Echo TR hydraulic disc brakes. If you don't mind the noise, the Jitsie comes with Magura HS33 rim brakes.

You want a moto trials group, this one is pedal trials (bicycle.)

Yea the one thing I like about his style is that it’s Duncans! He’s not trying to be anyone else.
In no particular order, Duncan, Danny, Ali, Flipp, Ben. Each with their own style and strengths. They all make great riding videos, so fun to watch.

Worked for me last night, in Canada.

Is your tire pressure too low?

It's the same as the Hope retaining pin. 3mm sounds right, I'm not gonna run out to the garage and check right now, sorry.
Yes, already confirmed it is 3 mm. But the 3 mm hex tool in my set is a bit too big or poorly 'machined', won't fit. Other 3 mm tools fit fine.

You sure it's actually a 3mm and not some random imperial one that's found it into the set?
Yes. This set is all metric, and shiny 'silver.' I have an imperial set that is dark.

Nothing wrong with the Echo 3 mm bolt, it's my 3mm hex tool that's a bit off (too big.) :-/

On an Echo TR front disc brake slave, is the bolt that holds the brake pads a 3 mm hex?
Or is it a "special" bolt head? All the other Echo brake bolts appear to be hex, but this bolt head seems a little messed up.
Bike is a 24" comp style Mk5. Bought it from TartyBikes 18 months ago, never had the brakes apart. I've lost some brake holding power, seems like maybe the pads are a bit glazed. Was trying to remove the pads, but the bolt wont take a hex key. 2.5 is too small, 3 wont go in. Bike has seen very little use, never in rain.

It might come down to how much the cost increases with disc brakes are on the Flow. I haven't used non-disc brakes on a bike for years, can't imagine going back to not stopping in a hurry, but they must work well enough for trials right?
Stopping power is nice, but holding power and feel/modulation is needed in trials. I opted for the Flow Plus upgraded to hydraulic disc, DB5 (only upgrade option available from Tarty in Dec 2016). All my bikes are hydraulic, except my road/CX with cable disc. The bikes with hydraulics have way better feel. Whenever I ride the road/CX I remind myself to squeeze HARD on the brakes when I really need to slow down.

My attempt to add musical light humour failed, even though G is a musician. :-(

Why did you stop riding for 4 years?

WHY they keep producing and selling THIS?
I'm using some nylon pedals and my shins are very grateful to me. It's so sad that I didn't know about nylon pedals before.
They produce and sell shin guards too, do you know about those?

I tried this with a Norco Manifesto, then bought a hex. I can learn moves on the Hex and then transfer them to the Norco, but learning on the Norco was frustrating. If you want to learn actual trials you would be light years ahead picking up a used trials bike for learning.
Sam Pilgrim did the same, now has a Flow Plus with Maguras. And he was already pretty good on a jump bike...

The beast made it about 4.5 hours of the 5 total before cutting out. It was seriously dusty and I think the carb just got choked up with shit. Eventually got it back running after the event had finished but it definitely needs a bit of TLC...
Yes, the air filter appears happy again.

Very good actual riding!!!
I don't care for the rest of the clips, and had to mute the sound.
This video reminds me of why I really like Flipp's and Ben Travis' videos. They choose good music that fits their riding. The riding stays at normal speed, does not suddenly speed up or slow down, so it flows well. They don't add filler clips (why add a clip of the rider looking at a phone????)

Alot of videos say you need to be slightly moving on pedals and turned wheel at 45 degrees. but my bike seems to shoot of when i try that. I'm rtying to learn trackstand with locked wheels, what i mean is i press and hold the brakes while trying to trackstand at the same time. Been at it for a few days.
Try it on a slight uphill. Pedal up the hill, slowly come to a stop (no brakes) with your front wheel at 45 away from your strong foot. Keep your weight half on your strong foot, half on the back pedal. If you need to roll forward gently put more pressure on your front (strong) foot, just a little!

Hi. So recently I bought an echo 24" . Really keen on learning trials. Tried learning things like track stand. But not getting very far. I'm in my early 30s. Looking for help and someone to help me ride trials.
Have you looked at TrashZen.com?
I started about a year ago, and was initially very frustrated with track stands. What finally worked for me was leaving both brakes off, slight uphill, just using pedal/crank to roll forward and hill to roll back. It took me a long time.
Also try riding extremely slowly, almost stopped, and a quick pedal up to back wheel. Use the technique on TrashZen and practice practice practice! Also try endo to back wheel to endo to back wheel..... And 2 wheel hops. All that practice of the basics gets you much better balance.
Don't give, I started in my mid 50's. Progress is very slow but continuous! It's really helped my mountain bike skills & confidence on slow steep rocky technical trails, which was my original goal. Now I'm liking my trials bikes (Echo 24 & Inspired Flow Plus) as trials bikes!
