What's with soldiers making videos of action on their phones? If I was in charge I'd be seriously pissed off if a useful body were f**king about videoing what's going on instead of doing their job and avoiding being shot... In fact if I were there I'd be concentrating on not being shot rather than videoing stuff. I can understand messing around in camp and away from the action but surely when you're being shot at your mind should be on the job?
Most of it is helmet cams, which just record when your cracking on with a firefight. So still doing our job but it gets recoreded to. And yeah messing around when we're back in the main camp bastion we end taking photo's like this!
Was alot worse taking to lmao.

To be perfectly honest I have no idea what we (you) are doing there. There seems to be no game plan, no goal or end in sight- just a whole lot of f**ked up religious wankers slowly blowing the country apart and taking plenty of innocent lives with them. Are you still trying to find Bin Laden or what?
Drugs. its about 60-70% of the worlds drugs are grown there. And i think of the top of my head 80% of the drugs that are in Britain come from there too. We were also asked by the Afgani government to help them out by taking away the Taliban. We all think that Bin Laden is dead anyway if he ain't hes most proberly hiding in pakistan.

Not sure because duty remour is i'm on course so i might not be going back out, so will just have to find out when i get back to Windsor.

We're definatly having a beter tour than our last one, at the moment were working out of FOBs and jus coming back after a few hours patroling. Where as last tour we were spending up 9 weeks out on the ground, working up 20 hours a day, but enjoyed it.

Pollen is essentially 'plant sperm'. Therefore, this makes hay fever an STD. Since no one voluntarily takes in pollen, I've deduced: We are all being raped by trees. In conclusion: deforestation is the way forward. Take that environment. You rape us. We rape you right back.
Edit: yes i'm drunk.

I expect it'll be a while before the poster returns from his current tour of duty , but it appears that he's from the same Regiment that Prince Harry is serving in , as recently exposed by the media . It's possible that he was aware of this all the time and was sworn under the O.S.A to withold / deny this for OpSec reasons . Pretty curious how Damo's tour is going either way . You O.K out there , buddy ?
Hey dude am bak til the 10th of march, end of tour for us is end of april. Yeah harry was with us the 2 and a half months he was out there. Didn't mind really.

Brilliant vid Damo! It's Eric by the way (If you even remember me from the London rides with Nick Dale...) How you been?
Whats it like being out there? Its easy enough to read it all in the newspapers and that but must be a completely different world to what they picture it as being... Is it as vast and wide open as they describe it?
When are you back from being on tour?
Take care fella
Well i'm at home now at the moment, going back out on the 23rd ( next weds ). Tour ends aroung the end of april haven't been giving a date yet. Yea corse i remeber you its only been 4 months lol. But aint rode in ages though.

Must be such an experience being out there.
Its different lol. Its just like being in the stone ages. They have about 30 people living in a small mud hut, its quite funny.
I LOL'd when the left handed throwing contest came on, genius.Well its 10% fighting and 90% boredom lol
Congrats on being brave enough to go out there too, i know i wouldn't fare too well.Don't think i am dude just doing my job.

I'm not really alould to say but we took this city in Helmend Province oopsMay I ask whereabouts in Afghanistan you are stationed ( if operational security allows ? )
The locals are preaty much waiting to see who they think is going to win the war, and so their slowly coming on our side. However the taliban our now threating their families to fight and so, have no choice but to fight.Do you feel that the population trusts you and understand the need for your presence ? -
Hey, just wana post a short vid of some of the photo's so far of our tour in afgan. Most of these photo's where taken over christmas and new years. Was weird being out there over the holidays, because you lose track of the days and dates. All the footage is of 3 Troop, C Squadren, The Household Cavalry Regiment, Op Herrick 7 2007/2008. Please watch and tell me what you think,
Chears Damo...

Yeah but to be honest, thats what we signed up to do, and what we been trained to do. We're not bovered, we just want to crack on with the job. My family is my mates that i've been trained with for years. If you have ever been out with a bunch of squadies you would know. Everyone sticks together no matter if we're out numbered, which is why we're all so good looking lol. At the moment i've got a 4 broken knuckles and a broken nose, but its all good times. Wouldn't change it for the world.
Edit: thats from the last piss up with the lads. I no proberly a lot of people on here will disagree with this, but i can't tell you in words the companionship we have with each other. We are closer than brothers, which is why we always find it hard when one of our lot die. Its the worst feeling in the world but we spill a pint, get migning, cry and crack on like the way we would want the rest of the lads to.
