  1. Hi all.

I've watched video tutorials, and read guides but i'm really struggling to do a 360 hop. Admittedly all tutorials seem to be on bmx. Is the technique different on a 24"?

I can 180 all day long, even when i'm trying to go further. Doh! Wondering if its a commitment/mental issue.

  2. Why are we all exactly the same age on here?! Lol

(Probably cos the youngsters are all out on their steeds)

All old and struggling to come to terms with aging.

Think this bike strikes a chord with lot of us. Think we can safely say weve had atleast one of the components on this build in some guise years ago.

How did you manage to get such a good condition irc tyre? Think we are due a return to amber/gum wall tyres being trendy/available.

  3. I used to live in Hastings, there's some pretty good spots there.

I'm not that familiar with Brighton in a riding sense, but I'd imagine there's plenty of stuff towards Hove on the seafront.

    Eastbourne is shite.

Can agree with that. Eastbourne is fairly poor from memory. Hastings had some good stuff on seafront. May head over that way myself soon, see what i can still do over there.

  4. I don't think I've ever needed to sand a rotor before putting new pads in? That just sounds like it'd slow the whole bedding in process down...

Agreed. Bedding in is essentially using the pads to smooth the rotor, and the rotor to profile the pads. Bit like lapping a heatsink.

  5. I'd stick with a pro 2. Ali's got a team green pro 2 for £70 that just needs a new axle (it's currently 12mm) and an endcap!

I did see this one, does seem a little high on price, especially as it requires £30+ to work on regular 10mm axle. Is the Team Green a limited colour?

Also, i'd always wonder how much better my world would have been if i'd only spent that extra £50 to get 32 extra clicks.

  6. The Hope ones for trials 48 or 80 EP will only accommodate 6 gears.

However, they do also make non trials specific ones 24 and 40 EP so maybe go for the 40T and then you really could have a hub for life.

I'm not too fussed about running a short block cassette, don't fancy running another alloy cassette carrier. I know i can get a steel carrier for the regular evo, but its all extra cost.

  7. Well the enevitable happened. The Quanta XC hub with alloy freehub died. I know, who'd have guessed.

I'm pretty much decided on the Hope SS, but it is a lot of money. Are there any other alternatives currently available? I was looking at freewheel hubs, various brands offer hubs for around £50, then another £50+ for a reasonable freewheel. So as far as I'm concerned for a 'mere' £50 extra i could have a 'hub for life' ie; once I'm too old for trials, i can use on a regular bike.

    Thoughts? Ideas?
