  1. You dont have to worry about media coverage etc... saying u were follwing the examples of a sport shown on videos and magazines..wudnt get bike mags in2 trouble!! for goverment to try and stop that wud be more trouble then its worth..trust me i know.. hence why the cant stop car mags talking about illegal cruises in mags etc...what you think they gonna do..stop spain and france having comps 2!! mags only have to write that the features in the magazine are not the intend views of the magazine company but of individual featured..and they are not encouraging the behaviour unless appropriate..and they get away scott free!!! but cud help get our guys out of court!!! trust me..alot of my family are law students... they'll never shut down trials coverage... but an innocent portrayal of following an example u believed to be a dedicated sport..cud save you arse!! Tom. (Y)
  2. adam..what did you mean by the cheap (approx 30%) crash replacement bit? i just remember giro have a crash replacement offer..that practically gives you a new helmet in the advent of a crash...but i cant remember what the limitations were.... sometimes they aint worth it.. i got a bike lock that give me 750 quid back in my bikes nicked... but u shud see what u have to supply before and in the advent of a stolen bike..!! lol Tom.
  3. just need the advice of the forum (yet again) i wanna buy a helmet for trials... i use to own a 2004 giro semi mx in black. found it pretty good..infact amazing!! i looked at getting another..but it seems that only the 2005 ones are available.. in either white with blue flames..grey with orange flames.. matt black, or matt grey!!! i got a shiny black monty with red detailing.. so wud much prefer the 2004 shiny black helmet.. but only places i seen it either have stupid prices or limted left over stock prices... i need a medium.. is there any other nice helmets..i like the e2's but aint spending 80-90 quid on a helmet im likely to crack when i miss a rail! lol so ideas of helmet please..and best prices..if you know sumwhere i can get an 2004 semi mx...cheap..in shiny black..medium..let me know asap!! thanks guys and girls!! (Y) Tom :D
  4. The police do have a habit of taking people to court for the silliest things.. and believe me..if they got a spare 5 min gap to squeeze u in at court they will do.. i been to court over very stupid things before and luckily i got a heavy fine... but they can be arseholes.. like others have said..police dont understand your sport and have a job to do! they just see it as people..smashin their bikes off things...and riding over bench the public sit on etc...so they dont know any better. your best idea is to write a letter to council..explaining situation and appolgise for you behaviour..and how you were innocently brought to court over something u were led to believe was a sport.. make an appointment at your local police station to go and talk about the issue...and maybe they can help with suggestions.. appeal to the newspaper...again how an innocent teen is being taken to caught for participating in something u believed to be a sport. and if u get as far as court...when u get chance to speak as i did....bend over backwards and kiss you own arse... again..that u are deeply sorry for your actions and how u have be alarmed how easy it is to be taken for court and close to having a criminal record for participating in what u innocently believed was a modern sport of today... and how u were just following what u have seen in videos and magazines...then cross you fingers.... i know the above is an essay..but i hope it helps the riders it has relivance 2.. Tom. (has fingers crossed for u guys!!) (N)

  12. scott.... take a look around some clothes shops! sum shops sell stuff u wudnt believe...i got dragged in "PRIMARK" the other day in huddersfield kickin and screamin...and when i got in there found the hottest combats i ever seen!! Real thick material... high quality....(not cheap crap) combats... for £8 a pair... so i bought 3 pairs..dark blue, olive green and like a stone colour. the best bit is the bottom zips off turning each pair in to the best 3 quarter length trousers i ever seen..im serious..they are MINT..proper urban street rider stuff!!! great for summer and mixed with a set of 661 shin pads...become they ideal for any weather rides....impossible to get them caught..i tried. so go on the look for bike wear bargins...and consider all shops!! (well most!) have fun mate. Tom. :) :-
  13. cheers guys!! i took the majority vote and went for the old skool brown koxx bloxxs.. i used them before and they hardly worn that much and the bite was strong and solid... Apparently..the other colour options are lil softer..wear faster but the bites not hardly any different.. so i ordered the browns!! cheers again..you'll very helpful. Tom. Last thing..if anyone knows of any riders in huddersfield (west yorkshire) (near leeds)...can you give em a nudge an get them to contact me. Tom_gta@hotmail.com just i seen a few riders around..but never had the time to say hi or have my bike on me.... im sick of being the only huddersfield based rider. and yes i know nadine lives here too but cant get hold of that "crazy gap girl" is she on holiday or something..or just a lone rider!!? cheers again. Tom. :wink2: :-
  14. I use to have these grips on my last monty 221 x-lite. i dont know what they were...remember the grip had "america usa" on them... and the 1st pair had loads of stars on ..they second pair lots of lil triangles. the grip came in two layers...a real thin red rubber...with a heavy duty black rubber over top..the company logo etc was cut out so the letters came through as red etc. they looked kinda like old skool bmx grips...with this round circle bit seperating you thumb from the bars and brake lever bit..if you get me!! hard to explain really. if ANYONE knows what grips they are..or where i could find a pair..please let me know asap. because i looked them to bits and they were probably my perfect grip!! thanks, Tom.
  15. Chris, where did you get your tarty pads from mate? Because i heard they were worth a look.. but i literally just been on the "tartybikes" site and there wasnt any pad or purchase details..just said they were "coming soon"... what did u think was better? the yellow koxx or the tarty's?? get back to me... cheers, Tom. :P
  16. lol ...DAN YOU ARSE!! Everyone likes a good looking bike...it matters not about pad colour... otherwise i wudda said straight, i was having reds..rather then asking different people about what colours best!! i assumed the different colour koxx bloxxs were for different ride styles or weather conditions much like cool stop use to do with their pads.... ....most trials riders are tarts at heart...its very much a showboating kind of sport... always wanting to go the extra mile to get the better line, or to out gap one another... i mean if i aint allowed to pick the colour of my pads dan..then why do we bother with rim tape... or frames colours even? sod it... lets all have the same colour maguras!! what im trying to say dan is.... "my bike...my rules". i mean check nadine's bike out... she using colour and people like it!! more to the point ...if its only 50mm of you bike...why do you care!!! (its my bike after all) i think i mite get red koxx pads!!! because im a tart and proud of it. i like it when a random in town walks past and mutters to his mate..sweet bike..or that a well nice monty... just adds to the enjoyment of a good day riding!! well dan...said it all now.... so less bitchin, more riding please buddy!! Tom. :P :P :P :P"
  17. i do alot of manuals and stoppies though...... ... i love bunny hopping up a small flight of steps in2 a stoppie.. so would u say i shud have red koxx for extra bite and colour scheme.. or shud i stick with the browns for a longer lasting ride..? do people reckon the reds are that much better then the browns? Tom.
  18. oh yeah........ ....im running, red "try-all" rims... and i have a medium grind both front and back. yeah i really liked the browny coloured koxx bloxx. i just havnt been reading up on many pad reviews recently, and have no ideas about what other products have become available. i dont fancy spending a wad of money on pads that will just be a dissapointment. example the yellow plaz pads... maybe they just old and tired.. my bikes red and black colour scheme.. i wudnt mind a pair of red koxx bloxxs which i've heard have been introduced to the market.. any opinions on them? are they for a certain type of weather or riding? or they just in a new funky colour? Tom.
  19. Dont suppose anyone can help recommend a good set of pads. my brake pads dont seem to be much cop!! ..just wondering whats the best pads these days.. i used the original colour koxx blocks on my old bike and they were mint.. ...at the moment.. i got a set of original monty pads up front.. and a set of yellow plazmatic pads at back... neither seem to good. i bought the bike that way.. and due to pads not having much life left, i wanna replace them... so what pads shud i get? i do alot of street style riding and want a good sharp bite. i think i'll probably end up going back to koxx bloxxs..so can anyone suggest a better pad...or even tell me what the difference is in the colours etc. thanks. ps - im using raceline maguras and its on a monty 221 ti if that makes any difference. Tom.
