  2. May I ask the pro's off metal backings and how do you refil them???

    ~Matty :D:D

Just cut the pad down to size, so its got a nice little snug in the backing. You don't want the pad to be too small or its not going to sit right, and then glue the pad material to the CcCed backing.

(after I've glued the pads and backings together i put them in a heated oven for about 2mins. Just to seat them properly. Then leave them to go hard. )

  3. Never ever heat any part of it up!

These are the words of wisdom from the Tarty boys.......

You'll need a vice, pair of maggie pads (preferably koxx blues or brown), a knife and a nylon mallet.

Pinch the maggie hosing in between the two pads in the vice. You're gonna need them done up tight to stop it moving but the pads will not damage anything.

Run the knife around the inside of the hosing to chamfer the edges. This helps the barb fit in easier.

Use some mineral oil to lube the barb and the hosing and then tap the barb in with the mallet.

You must make sure it goes in straight or you'll damage the hosing.

OK. thanks for your help pal, i have it sorted now I've found some hosing with the barb in. yay!! :D(Y)

I always thorght it was rubbish untill i actuly tried it.

What do you guys think about it.

    Cheers.

I don't use it because my coust pads are amazing. Never really used TAR because I've always had an amazing brake. Try using the search topic more, there is loads of topics about TAR and what people think about it ect...

  7. Cheaper option:

    Ring up SMBBearings - 01993-842555

    And ask for 4X - 6802-2RS

    Will cost around £12/13.

Get the standard chrome ones too.

all i need to know is which one out of THESE TWO do i need!!! and thanks for that other info..

Profile Hub Driver Bearing OR Profile Hub Shell Bearing <<<< i think it might be this one!

    Paul!

  8. you shouldn't have bought another set of backing's if you allready have a pair. whoever said that is talking shit.

You can remove the old material from the backing's and fit new material, whatever material you want can be put in them. Usually heating them in the oven will break the glue seal but it depends on what was used originally.

cheer mate you help alot, and talking about oven's

what temperature does the fan oven need to be to heat up the glue??

    Paul!

  9. just put my coust pads on and there so much better than the red heatsinks, they grip abit more and give more sound out.

Is it possible to put the cnced backing off the red heatsink and put on the coust's?????

    thanks

    Paul! :-:rolleyes::D

  10. i think snowys are rubbish ok on the front but not on the rear because they didnt hold me (12 stone) cousts were good for me on a grind but my mate has the heatsinks in cnc backings hes only a lil fella but the lock really well and have a really nice sound with them

so either the cousts or heatsinks i would choose and sell the snowys

    kool cheers mate! (Y)
