  1. Intergated headsets are crap lol, it has to be said. On my T-Rex i have Snapped the top race in two and the bottom ones cracked. I have never had any problems with NORMAL headsets. I am definatly not paying £30 for a new one, where could i purchane some inserts like on the Zoot to reduce size to 11/8?

    Cheers all, Kieron :P

  2. Mine has no frame flex but loads of flex in the bars and the forks, try pulling both brakes and bouncing up and down, then balance and let the front brake off, if your wheel jumps forward then something is flexing.

    Kieron :)

  3. I think this is not going to do much to the industry, new parts get released every year, get used to it. This is like the Magura crisis, i HATE the new Maguras they are pure evil, yet i prefer the newish golfs( you all know which i mean) to the mk1's and 2's. Its a personal prefrence whether you like frames being released and ITS YOUR CHOICE whether you buy them. Its not your choice whether they are released or not but who is forcing you to buy them, stop bitching, start riding.

    Au revoir :P

  4. Middleburns, I currently own a pair of tensiles and they are bent, no really i have done nothing big and they are bent, I am going to get some Burns soon and i'm sure they will hold out much better. I havent heard anything about the BT Cranks so i have no views on them.

  5. Thats a really good effort, i prefer freehand sprayin but for a first attempt at stencil that is really really good. ;) :)

I'm into the graff scene right now, i dont like the mess of stencils, i'll try and get some pics up later on. :P

  6. I had that problem on some Honigs but i was replaced with the new reds and they are much better glued and havent budged. I think this was down to the pad rubber being being softer on the Honigs so it flexed around more but the reds are harder yet grippier (Y) :- I find that weird?Anyway I feel Heatsink are the way forward as theyre all good and Steve is a good man.

  7. Take the thing off and get a magura dude! No, kidding, i would rather go vee but anyway, take the brake off and file around the boss to remove imperfections, BUT if it works fine with no play the leave it , as long as its tightened it shouldnt budge, unless the brake is unclipped or not together fully.

    Hope this helps, Kieron

  8. Maybe but wouldnt anyone like free pads, (Y) I used them for the first time today in the wet and they wernt petticually good but in the dry i truly think they are amazing, I came from magura blacks :"> .

  9. What a good topic, well, lets see I am the bodge master

*Held pads to backing with chewing gum

*Used lard for bearing grease in wheels

    *The official pad bodge

    *two tyres on one rim

*two Tubes on one rim ( great if you get a puncture you still have rollable tyres

    *No headset

    *Innertubes as grips

    *Home made bashgaurd

Thats all I can think of at the moment but i will edit with more when i remember.#

Keep the bodgeing up, Kieron

  10. I love my Heatsinks but i was riding down a hill and suddenly, no rear brake, oh dear, my rubber had pulled of the backing.Very disapointed but still a good pad if they stay put.

I have just been talking to steve and my views of heatsink have drastically changed, he has given me his apologies and is sorting the problem, top guy, i will be buying more pads from him in the future.

    Kieron  (Y) :D

  11. Take the cones off and just take as much out as possible and youll see the side of the cartridge bearing, it will have a red/blue/black seal(i dont own one of these hubs). Remove the seal using a screwdriver and look at the bearings inside, are they cracked, missing or just not very nice, if its either of these youll need new bearings/hub. If the bearings are just manky then you need to get them out using a screwdriver and soak them in petrol then leave to evapourate or set fire to petrol, grease with lithium grease and reassemble. It took enough time to write so i hope it helps, and whilst i was writing this im goin out with my ex agen so im chuffed :) :P

    Cheers all, Kieron :ermm:

  12. Just to answer your question, if your talking about the Honigs's then yes they are far better, i thought my blacks were good with a bit of tar but i wouldnt go near the stuff now, even with a smooth rim they hold, not much modulation though and alot of squeek before they bed in.(I was using a CD D521)

    Kieron :ermm:

  13. Firstly, theyre loads of pad topics so search next time. However i dont thnk its worth making your own pads for the trouble and reliability. Heatsink are half price at the moment so just but 3 or 4 pairs of them.

    Kieron :(

  14. These are mine and before you all sayin uuurrrrggghhhhhhh! its a special mixture to glue them and i am one of the only people that use standard maggie pads(heatsink on its way) and i find them fine. I used 4 phillips screws and grinded them down to size(im too lazy for hacksaw), banged the screws in and glued eveything together  I'll get back soo to say how it works and also i'm using these pads on the rear :( ..with lots of tar :)

    Kieron
