  1. Bit of a long shot but I have a load of toyota starlet turbo ep82/ep91 upgraded suspension bushes, engine mounts, anti roll bars and strut braces to shift as part of an unfisished project (whiteline/cusco and ultra racing parts), everything is new but I just want rid of it if anyone knows someone who'd want the lot far less than what its worth if they collect from chester way?

Please pm me if you know anyone interested!

  2. Rodrigo Y Gabriela

I suspect they are Spaniards but the music is very good.

They do flamenco style rock covers of led zep, floyd and metallica amongst others as well as their own nifty stuff.

  3. You got yahoo set as your homepage?

If so, give yourself a slap on the head for being weird... and set google as your home page, problem should be solved ;)

Google uk is the homepage, which is why I'm confused.

  4. Can anyone tell me how to change the settings so that if I type in a website name eg "trials forum" in the address bar without www etc it takes me straight to the site rather than going through yahoo searches?

It had been working fine for ages but somehow I've managed to break this handy feature

    Thanks

  5. Really enjoyed that. :)

Ok its been two years since my last video so i thought it was about time to do another one. this video has footage from the last year. Hope you guys enjoy it and prizes for whoever spots why it is different to my other videos.

Dunno, did you film it left handed?

  6. Pads: Koxx Reds

    Time used: Nearly a year

    Rim used: Echo 07

    Mod/Stock: Stock (07 pure)

    Grind: Yes

Brake used: 2004 Magura, braided hose, no booster

Previously used pads: Zoo, Joypads, magura red / black, Gu, Planet X sticky, Plazmatics

By far the best all round pads I've ever used. They have very good bite and hold in the dry and reasonable hold in the wet.

They've been used on the same rim with light, sharp and heavy grinds and seem to work best on sharp grinds.

The wear rate is outstanding considering my grind is comparable to a badgers arse.

  7. Pads: £5 Green Trials Polymer Compound pads

    Time used: 2 hours

    Rim used: monty?

    grind: fresh that day

Brake used: Magura 04 water bleed

What is your opinion of a working brake:Good bite and hold not noisy!

How do they compare to previous pads you have used: better bite, but no hold at all.

review: good if you only want to stop or slow down from roling, not good to catch you from a gap or lunge, what can i expect from a £5 pad? i did a small gap and landed on the back wheel, my bike just came out from under me and left me on my back and elbow (N) they're the sort of pad you put on your bike if your trying to sell it wuith working breaks, and you don't have any old ones. wouldn't reccomend anyone wastes their money on them, they're worn down loads already too, only ridden with them for half an hour. (N) (N) (N)

I tried a set of these and they are identical to zoo pads, very good on smooth rims but not too clever on a grind.

  8. Thats wrong, well sort of.

most trials freewheels are 18 tooth so if you were to put it on the rear you'd need a 27 tooth front cog in order to get the same ratio. which is annoying on a stock and wont even fit on a mod.

most people who run an 18 on the rear use a 22 tooth on the front.

    so 22/18 = 1.22'

    1.22 x 48 = 59 so you'd have 59 engagements or near enough for a full rotation.

what you are saying in principle is right but in practice doesn't really work.

They have used 18:12 gearing as an example as they assumed Dan Kearns was talking about mod bikes. (Your wrong G4vyn :P)

Freeehubs do feel sluggish to me compared to freewheels but I'd stick with the King if I was you.

  9. Are they echo/zoo etc. forks? I had a similar problem although not as extreme with some urbans where the area for the base of the headset was nowhere near flat. Maybe contact who you brought them from, or see if you can spy the high spots on the fork and carefully file them level.

  10. I don't think the point of huge's list was to suggest cars to get as a first car, more of a case of highlighting that the statement regarding getting a car which is a 1.4 or above, is a bit silly. Which was kinda what I was getting at above, but more subtly.

Yes, thats what I was trying to show, however I lacked the finnesse of your post!

I would highly recommend against getting any quick car as a first, in fact I think it may be beneficial to introduce some sort of power limit like that found with motorbike licences.

I'd recommend a 205 of some description as a first car

  11. To whoever said don't get anything under a 1.4

    Starlet turbo 1.3

    Charade turbo 1.0

    Swift GTi 1.3

    RX7 1.3

    RX8 1.3

    Uno turbo 1.3/1.4

    Punto turbo 1.4

All of them will not be slow, i'm sure there are other quick low capacity cars-don't be so narrow minded :P

However like others have said, I recommend you do not get a fast car as your first.

  12. Try herts insurance if you have modified your car, they are quite helpful.

My first car was a 2001 ford ka, bit girly but the handling was much better than other cars I would've been able to insure and it had no major mechanical troubles. I now drive a 1993 toyota starlet turbo which is loads of fun and very reliable.

I recommend you get someting sensible as a first car to build no claims and prevent you having too much power at your hands. Then save up for a faster/newer/flasher car and you'll appreciate it much more :)

Try not to go on your parents insurance claiming to be a second driver when it is in fact your car. It may be cheaper but its illegal and insurers are clamping down on this. I doubt you'll find a quote of less than £1300 third party for your first car on your own insurance.
