  1. My Sidehop Picture. kk... there's gotta be something I can do to gain more height, I'm kinda getting impatient cuz I think i've been stuck in the 30 - 31 inch range for about 3½ weeks... I've got the pull up to crotch mastered... my rear tire hits my butt everytime... besides kicking faster/harder... is there anything else I can do? Does anyone know how to do that tuck form where your legs are straight and like... your stomach is on your rear tire? That would be a nice tuck to master... I think... Hmm ionno I guess I'll slowly get higher as I grow and get stronger... and running 22 - 19 is a lil snappy... i need 22 - 18... But yea any tips anyone can give me would be awesome! (Y) thanks! God Bless! Ian
  2. Ah icic thanks for all your comments everyone! :P Yea i put the grips about 1 inch off the edge of the bar so i don't think the grip snapping is a problem. But yea the part about changing the bar geo I agree with. Maybe i only think i have more control since this is a new feel, but yea with the stuff I do I don't think I put too much stress on the bar. Hmm but I do find it wierd how I turn on back much easier... like its on 1 point... no side or back movement at all when I turn... and my hops hardly leave the ground... feels like im floating... and when i tried just doing my normal high hop on flat land i usually hit the 30 - 31 inch range... and i can feel my airtime... but with the wider bars i thought i was hanging a lil longer in the air... ionno probably my brain playing tricks on me... but yea I'm probably gonna ride like this a lil longer then switch back to normal bar length. Thanks all once again for your comments! :) God Bless! -Ian
  3. The other day my friend bought these lock on grips, and they usually come with 4 nuts for you to tighten the grips on. But when he opened the pack there were only 2 nuts to use for both grips... so hes like dang it. But then I'm a nice guy so I took 2 nuts off my grips and gave it to him and he was happy. Anywho so I got home today and this great idea popped into my head... i was like wow these lock ons have been holding well with only 1 nut each grip (nuts tighted on the inner part of the grip)... i wonder what would happen if i slid them out off the ends of the handlebar to act as a handlebar extention... and it worked like a dream... ive never had so much control in my life... turning on back wheel has never been so effortless and i think i gained 3 - 4 inches on my hop, length and heightwise... Feels so awesome to ride lat width! Just thought I'd share this incase there are some cheap people like me out there who don't wanna spend 40+ on longer handlebars. God Bless All! -Ian (Y)
  4. lol o ok thanks. hmm... i need help on how to post pictures lol... i don't get the URL thing... so like the pic has to be on the net in order for it to be posted? Or like is it possible for me to load an image from my comp. Sorry if i sound noob... not much of a forum person.
  5. Hey everyone! I've been into trials for quite awhile now... probably 1½ years or so... I had some Dunlop bike that I practice on for a long time... up to the point where I can hop on the back for about a minute or so... but i never knew about pedal kicking lol... well anywho I finally got a trials bike about 1 month ago... and wow... ionno... to me I've felt like ive gotten 10 times better in a few weeks... but ionno what is actually good for 1 month on a real trials bike on top of 1½ years of learning how to hop on back wheel... i ask my friend to take a pic of my hop the other day... and it looks about 30 - 32 inches... couple inches more than wheel height (rim+tire)... so basically the point of this post is to ask more experienced riders if theres any training techniques or particular order of tricks to work on to help increase the speed of my progress... i run 22 - 19... and i got a Norco Evolve 2002 with bad brakes cuz im forcing myself to not depend on my brakes to clear an object and clear it full wheel... i guess i can worry about brakes later on when i have more money... yea i bought my evolve for 300... lucky deal... so um yea my names Ian lol nice to meet you! ;) Oh yea and i need to know how to post images of myself hah... :D
