  1. I agree who cares? however I road Gile's bike @ Islington during the comp last year. It was alot heavier. he'll admit it. He dont care, he's one of the best in the world anyhow, on his own bike
  2. Yeah the back end is a tad weighty. But it is a UCI bike, what were you expecting? The costilliar frame its baced on is alot heavier, and then some. Onza were working on a light weight one which Ben Slinger was testing and road @ the UCI comp @ islington last year. I dont know how thats going though

    Facing

Not with that particular frame, but have had it with others. On the hope tool you can set it for depth. Face one hole, then undo the allen wrench grug screw on the cutter grip and move the grip flush with the frame, and do up the grub screw. Remove the cutter, reposition the alignment mount and re-insert the cutter into the relivent hole for the second mount hole. When you've cut away enough metal from the disc mount the cutter grip will meet the frame. You should now have a well faced disc mount. Alt. get the magura one, if you've got £300.00 kicking around. 4. If one piston moves more than the other, you've got air in the brake somehow. Most probably in the bridge hose. Bleed your brake. Which will be tricky if your lever adjuster in buggered. If your pads are to bad, buy new ones. The more rubber contacting the rim surface the more solid the brake will be

    Cassettes

Any close ratio cassette (being refered to as a road cassette, but at the end of the day they're a cassette) are good. Alot of riders use 8speed over 9speed as the cassettes and chains on 8speed are stronger, and as you really dont want snappage on your drivechain, sacrifice a little weight there. Gear ratio is your choice unfortunantly. And when you find a gear your happy with you'll probably not use any other. For example I use 20/17. But that might not be right for you. Many monty team bikes have fitted 6cogs (have to for comps) in a row of 15t 17t 15t 17t 15t 17t. however unless you've got alot of old blocks or spare cash lying around this is quite expensive to achieve Lastly. my opinion is Scram over Shitmano (whoops) I meant shimano. As they are stronger and more durable. (and cheaper!)
  6. Suprisingly good rims. F.rims are with Hogs in them because the hog is stamped from the metal in production. This can be done as the F.rims are only single wall. Others above are correct. The r.rims are Tri-all rims. They come out of the same factory in the far east. They just dont have Tri-all etched on them. The r.rims must have round holes in as if the hogs where stamped through, the cutter would bend the first wall of the rim. So they a milled out round. Grins vary and it depends on the grind, pads used and the rider to how long they last.
