  1. I think people prefer forwards cause the momentum gained can get you up quite easy if done right. I personally prefer the sidehop its more controlled, however when I do a good tap it really boosts you up the wall with minimal effort. Its just a case of getting that "RIGHT" tap which can be a bit tricky. Josh..

  2. Thanks for your replys, I have used the old mono trial rotor from my echo and it seems ok and it hasnt even bedded in, so should be good when it has. I sent the old rotor off on friday so I will wait to see what they say about that and let you know how I get on.

P.s. Matt I have started dieting ... so should you :P

  3. Hello guys/girls, I havent had my monty for long now and all was going well until today. I bought a new chain, grips and changed my pedals over gave everything a clean and took it for a ride then came the bang checked it over and noticed that the rear disc has actually cracked across 4 points. Just wondering has anyone else had similar problems or any problems at all with there monty '07 the rear disc is a monty/hope brake and I have never hit or landed on the disc. Could this be that a rear disc isnt up to the pounding or that the disc itself is a manufacturing problem. I know one thing its going back to hope first thing tomorrow with a bad note (N)

    Comments please people,

    Josh.

  4. So joe will you be out during the week aswell ?? I will get the train to woking dont really want to be going much further on unfamiliar grounds. If you give us ur numba i will ring you when im down ! ! And then you can contact the "locals" and invite them !

  5. Nice one mate, that no problem im staying with a mate's cousin (in guilford anyway) Ermm give us your number and i'll ring you when i come down !! I will be in guilford for like 5 days from 31 st, when are you able to come out ?! And dont worry we will find some things ... somewhere. Who do you ride with ?!

    Cheers Josh..

  6. Hi mate, I definately think the try-alls are worth the extra money SPECIALLY in the wet and on natural they are the best tyres going !! The tread lasts about the same amount as the maxxis aswell from what ive experienced. Although the rear tryall is a little heavier :P But dont worry about that .............

    Cheers Josh..

  7. Where can I get them fresh chain tensioners from or the micro chain tugs you were on about ?? And yes Ive tried most BMX chain tensioners APART from weighing as much as my bike they dont fit !! So Any other suggestions ??

............ By the way there may be a mod tensioner soon that everyone wants  and DUCKO is all I will say :P

    Josh..

  8. Hi people, I have a King hub and am quite frankly P****D Off to the max !! I cannot find any decent tensioners. I have tried some Tryall Snail cams and they are S**T Slip and dont keep the tension and you can barely set it up yourself. I just dont understand how I buy a top quality hub and a good frame (Echo Team) and I cant get some proper tensioners. It makes me want to buy a whole new frame from the problems that have led on from this (pads rubbing, chain snapping) So any idea's on some PROPER tensioners that may work ? Ive also considered a half link chain but they snap far too easily. Any suggestions would be nice or even a bodge that will work. :)

    Cheers Josh..

  9. Yello, Erm really you should be asking for a broken shoulder because it will heal quicker. Broken bones heal quicker because more blood gets to them, than ligaments. The more blood that can get to them the better because in the blood is the "repairing" stuff. So even though it may seem longer for a broken bone to heal it isn't. A broken bone is more painful aswell so you treat it better and usually not try anything, with ligaments you feel kinda up to doing something and then pull or damage it even more and can be back to square one again. My advice is still stay active (not too active), don't overstretch, get some cod livers in the system (or other oil source) and try going swimming a bit (IT HELPS A LOT) the warm water and movement should aid healing, But at the end of the day the main healer is time (N):( But if you don't ride too much or over-do it for a while I think you should be better in time (Y) good LUCK ! :D If you want to ride then try and keep it warm (one of them warm packs that last like 8 hours) but if I were you I would not risk it.

    Cheers Josh..

  10. Fair Fookin Dues ! ! This guy is fookin amazing for a 14 yr old, and I think he is a very good rival to Mr.Joe baxster himself if not better in places. But im no-one to judge :$ because there both better than me !! Again nice Vid cant wait too see more ! !

    Cheers Josh ..

  11. Man !!! I have watched all your video's and am usually to jealous after to leave a reply :- But I just had to leave one for this. Them lines looked so smooth and your how old ?? Im loving that back brake noise and hold what padsa are you running ? Nice locations looked super slipperly and dead chilled video throughout !! How are your "BALLS" ?? no im not gay ............... :S:P Just looked like you hooked them at the end :P:D

    Josh.. :$

  12. Hi I run 18:12 atm and I am really up for trying something a bit heavier. What size would I have to go to on the back to make it a little bit harder ? And how hard will it be ? A real difference or just a "bit". Cheers Josh

  13. what an ace comp!!

I REALLY apreciate everyones help to get it done, you put in so much effort, for other people enjoyment...it really means a lot to me.

I loved the venue, loads of lines and even has a FULL PIPE!!! oh how I had fun in there

I hadnt ridden natural for 9 weeks and I hadnt ridden natural on my ashton at all...so I am pretty happy with 3rd in elite. cleaned 5 sections in a row (including section 7 and 9!) I was very chuffed with that.

The water section scared me....you couldnt tell how deep it was (luckily Dave showed us when he dropped into it....top man!! )

Its a shame you didnt like it geez....but to me thats what trials is...lots of mud, rocks and a hell lot of fun....I wouldnt ride if I only did street. I did however have my super spikey mud tyre on, so I didnt have any problems with grip untill I got onto the rocks :P

That dam gap at the end though, it nackered my rim, I didnt want to do it again incase it made it worse....sorry guys :(

Cant wait till the next comp

Didnt want to do it again MAN I DONT BLAME YOU ! When you were up there the thought of you doing it was enough and actually doing it fair dues ! (Y) For the conditions amazing ! And when you did the other gap actually whilst in the comp ! Top rider ! Only worry is you've enspired will to do it now :(:( I got a bad feelin about that one even though he's a top geezer aswell :D

Cant wait until next comp ! Josh.

  14. Yes riding it in the dry sounds awsome! I didnt think it was that cold at all  But muddy it was ! :P Still met a few new riders and it was a "fun" trial and I enjoyed it. Cant wait until comps in the summer :D And thanks to all the organisers and observers ;) Ali C............ oh my god section one gap from huge high thing down onto I dont know what :o:O will be a memory forever. Josh (Y)

  15. If you're riding a mod, the best chain is a BMX one called the 'Motorbike chain'. I forget who makes it, but it's huge - just looking at it you KNOW that you ain't gonna snap that, EVER. The downside is that it weighs a ton. I had one once and it lasted me forever on a bike that broke chains all the time. You also need a monstrous chain tool to fit it. I had to...ahem...'modify' mine to make it fit (hacksaw-tastic!)

Or you could always get one of these...

    IPB Image

lol I think I'll be leaving them out !! (Y) but i do like the colours  Just to add my friend just got his T-pro riding again and used the proper KMC split link and just kick hopping "Partz" off the forum snapped it :o So i think im going to try linking the chain up properly now (Y) thanks though for your replies, Josh.

  16. Hello this will be my first camp :D not doing my best with riding at the moment but the rocks seem to be on my side and I want to get the "camp atmosphere" Coming from wales and can bring one person that will probes be Will as he asked first, or Duck. Rob might be driving in that case another three from wales will be coming (Y) Do you have to have any licenses ? And what are the rules as far as gloves, helmet, shoes? And do you have a rough idea of prices on the day?

Cheers and hopefully see you there (Y). Josh

  17. Use the flippin split link

If you join the chain, then its not going to be joined anywhere near the standard that the factory joins them, ergo, it will be the weakest link.

The split link doesnt work on the strength of the pin, its held together by a thick piece of metal, therefore is alot stronger than a pin you have pushed in yourself.

EDIT: this is for the kool split link, most others are shite

This Is what I wanted people to reply on mainly joining the chain or using a split link. I can see where your coming from with the split link. But peoples argument is that the split links metal is not as thick or high grade as the rest of the chain. I have only broke one and am very willing to try something new to see if its any stronger. I have a Ski plate so landing on it is almost impossible.

Just a little extra to talk about can anyone think of any safety designs so that if your chain/link snaps then your cranks dont spin round at the speed of light :P (My thoughts were somesort of locking mechanism in the BB so that if pressure is lost from the chain/cranks the BB Will tighten up a bit or at least lock after a quarter turn. Cause then you could at least stay on the pedals ! :D Just an idea. Josh
