  1. Hay All,

Well, Ive been interested for photgraphy for quite some time now, more to the point taking pictures of trials. Ive seen much of the work in the members area and in Chit Chat and im simply in awe at the skills of the photographers and what they do to get there pictures!

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to do a noobies guide to using a 350 manually (Can focus on my own, change saturation, and use the flash prety well but thats about it!).

I was also after some guideance on wide angles shots. With the standard lens I have that comes with the 350 I cant do the angles i see on many photos in members chat, this obviosuly down to which lens they use, but as i have no idea about this would someone be willing to tell me a decent fish eye lens and a genrally wide angle lens (if it helps, I would like to able to take a picture of a rider sidehopping from about a metre away and get him all in. Which appers to be do able in the pictures ive seen?!)

Any help much appricated as im new to this. (Y)

  2. also.... Konica Minolta Dimage Z5 should be around £250 if you look around, similar to te canon S2 but dead cheap (but quality also is lower than the S2, but still a 5mp, 12x optical, loads of functions like live histogram and 640x480 vids)

try and look for a Panasonic Lumix FZ5 too, probably best image quality on at this sort of price range (Leica lens), but a little let down on vids with 320x240 vids. 12x optical zoom and all though :P.

and of course owning a S2 IS myself i'd recommend that, because its a super cam. £360 if you look around carefully, swivel screen (like on those camcorders) AWESOME vid qualitys (in avi format its like dream-and i mean DV quality stuff going on). 12x optical zoom with Image Stabaliser, takes AA batts, takes a good couple of days to drain the batteries, LCD viewfinder......etc etc. there's too much to name. anyways have a good look and you'll see what im talking about.

Once again my price limit is £250 - £300 so thanks steve but £360 is way to steep :) but cheers anyway :) Ill keep having a look round, but another 1 of my problems is that i cant buy off ebay unless i get a mate to do it, but i dont like doing that! So any and all help will be appreciated, again thanks steve :(

  3. Hay all,

Am no longer that intrested in trials unfortunately, but im mates with a good few riders and am really wanting to get into photography nothing serious just messing about with a decent cam to see what i can get. And ive just got abut £250 toghether maybe £300 ill have to see, but anyway, i was wondering if any of you guys could recomend a camera to me. If at all possible it should be able to record vids aswell (not that bothered if it dosnt). And obviously needs to be a relatively good one because im not just after trials piccy's, ill be after anyhting and everything.
