  1. I know Danny and im not being nasty but, the silly boy swapped a 2006 Monty 221 ti for that Zoo. His riding was alot smoother and more controled on the monty but he insisted on swapping. Sorry Danny but your riding has gone a bit down hill on that bike.

  2. What's the wheelbase? And does it somehow feel short, due to the higher bb?

And what crank/bb/sprocket setup do you have? Would a 118mm bb fit as well?

Iv measured 1090 with the control forks and the bike doesnt seem to feel short. Feels perfect in my oppinion.

To answer your other question, i am using echo cranks, viz bb and surly 18t screw on cog. I wouldnt have thought the 118 bb would fit. It is perfect with the viz 127 so i think maybe the 118 will be a tad to short.

    Cheers for comments again.

  3. I have a 200mm on my 26", it started off really really good and was locking just like my bb7 but it gradually got worse (probs got some oil on it) so i got a new hope 200mm rotor for it and sanded the pads a little and now it is back to its locking self. If you treat it well and try not to contaminate it is an awsome break.

Deffinatly a yes from me (Y)

  4. Alryt lads, i have had the frame for a few weeks now but wanted to wait until after christmas to post up the pictures as i was waiting on a few arivals.

The bike rides very very nice and i dont think i would change it for anything else on the market.

Big Thankyou to Fred and Ben savage for giving me a supported place and getting the frame sent off as soon as it arrived instock.

  5. Although koxx rims seem to be very strong at the moment i think that the Viz rims are the best drilled rims money can buy. I have used the echo 05/06 rims, koxx, onza hog but nothing compares to the viz rims in my oppinion. Although for street an undrilled rim is the best.

But i would recomend the viz rims to anyone (Y)

  6. Have you not considered the new formula oro disc brake from tartybikes?

I just got mine in the post this morning and EVERY brake that i have had has been S**t out of the box but this was brilliant for a first use. Even after about 6 or so hours of riding the brake has really bedded in and can lock as well as my bb7 did even after this little time but also it modulates well.

This is by far the best hydrolic brake iv had and iv used all of the hopes.

  7. Dont you just hate it when n*bs put your unfinished videos on t-f without you knowing about it :P but yeah the video wasnt finished but might aswell bring it out as the new frame wont be long in coming.

I dont personally like the riding in the video a great deal. Im hoping that changing to a lower bb bike is going to help with my riding alot, especially taps :-

Also i big thankyou to Luke Drewary for doing some very impressive editing in the video.

I will have a short video of me on the Zhi, for the first ride out, when it comes so i look forward to bringing that one out.

    Thanks, Brett..

  8. Do the calipers snap themselves under the force? If so, only option is to drop a size, try the 185. Or lose some weight :P

Yeah they just break under the force of the brake. I dont want to drop a size because i want the brake to work as well as it did and if people say that they are just the same then the 185 will break to.

Im not fat either. 12st isnt fat i dont think :P

  9. Alryt lads,

I have used many different front brakes in the past, such as magura loise, hope mono mini, hope mono trial and there all s**t imo.

I then tried a BB7 and, well, it is the best brake ever. I have been using a 205 and it is exactly how i want my brake to be but i have snapped two callipers in the past 2 months and i really cant afford to keep buying a new one each month.

I would like to know if there is any brakes out there that can equal the BB7 and wont break.

    Is there such brake?

    Thanks Brett....

  10. Away from all of the argueing and people calling the venue "shit". (it wasnt)

I enjoyed the day a great deal although the competition wasnt really my style but by kno means was it "shit". I felt that the competition would have suited the 20" riders a hell of alot more because the sections were very tight and techy, where as i think the 26" riders will like bigger rocks but with more space. I found the trial very hard and i did get abit fustrated because of this but i did like the challenge and i did thoroughly enyoy myself and im sure the people who left would have to.

Thank you very much to everyone who was involved in making the day happen. And a big well done to the people who finished the comp and enjoyed themselves.
