  1. 5th place is James Barton from Canada!

That is really cool considering that James is in his first international comp... Even is first comp outside North America! finals on the 8-9-07

Its also really cool to see that the Simtra ST-1 bike he is riding can compete at a world level.

  2. Here is a few pictures of the ST-1 new proto. This is Jeff Anderson's bike. Changes include:

    Flattend the TT curve

    Lighter tubes

    Remove intergrated booster

    1090 WB

    +40 BB

Still in proto stages, so a few changes could still be done.

And a version on the MOD proto that Jeff testing out

  3. I heard that many of the Simtra Team riders have been having problems with their simtra frames, appearently they all snap around the maggy mounts.

Could you please tell me where you heard this? because I think you are a bit off there...

And Simtra is a Canadian Company.

  4. Main reason when design started was to be able to fit stock parts on a MOD frame. I wanted someone to be able to use parts that are easely findable or just liying around and use it on a MOD. In fact I see it more as a mini stock than a MOD.

As for the vertical mounts.. just find it really less of a pain. Just put your wheel in the drop out and it's done. No movement.

  5. Here is a picture of the tensionner. It is home made by james.

Here is what the geo looks like so far for the proto.

    +55mm bb

    1015mm wb

    360mm cs

    71 degree head angle

MOD is a full proto, nothing is set on it. Apart that for sure I am going with 135mm spacing and that the TT will have a curve to match the ST-1.

James and Jeff who are testing these and they will report back and changes will be made as per there recommendation.

  6. Since it is still in proto, there is no weight or no definitve finish product. I am not too sure about this horizontal mount thing, because vertical is really less of a hassle. Just put your wheel in and it is done. This is bike is in fact like a mini stock as you can run gears if you want, multitude of hubs as it is a 135mm spacing. But like i said nothing is definitive.

  7. I agree with you guys that an horizontal mount drop out frame is good because you are able to run single speed easy. But don't guys find it more of a hassle, since the wheel moves, repositioning and getting proper tension?

With a vertical mount you pop in the wheel and it is set. I know tensionners are not that great so far, but this could change...

Our 7075-T6 McSpander bars are wide. If 780mm seems a bit wide for your liking, you've got plenty room for cutting the bars narrower!
