  1. I'm surprised you're even thinking about starting one to be honest.

Especially if you're 18ish years old?! It's more of an immature idea around here really.

There are decent sites up already. I'm not trying to 'kill the idea' 'cos anything adding to the sport is obviosuly a good idea.

    But how about TrashZen?

That's one of the best sites out there. And that actually is aimed at n00bs to Pro's. Including Pics, Vids, Tutorials and more.

You can't really beat it really. You'd be better just advertising it more :)

Thanks for the input. I do agree i have used TrashZen many a time. It is a fantastic website. I am trying to do something different and haven't quite come up with the right idea yet. There are so many sites out there I just wanted to try incorporate a bit of everything and have it one place! I may still have to knock this one on the head!

  2. On what exactly? 2 lines of text, a bright yellow and white background, and a google search box?

Maybe actually do some more the site, then ask for feedback.

Its like me going "look at this house i'm building", and i point to a cement mixer.

    Just, no.

Sorry I didn't word that very well. I don't want feedback on the site, the stuff there is just as a holder on the space(name is going to change too just using an old webspace of mine). I am after what people would like to see appear on the site. I have had people asking for bike reviews, how-to's (trashzens kind of thing) alot of people want a bit of everything that is around but in one place. A few have asked for another magazine style site, more updated than the odd few out there. Things like that. I only put the link there for the guys to email site admin.

    Sorry for the confusion guys!

  3. No I checked that the pads weren't moving. They are firmly in place and I cannot see any play in them at all. I am gonna go mess with the star fangled nut and see if there are any problems in there.

  4. Loosen the stem bolts, then tighten the one on the top-cap until the wobbling stops, and then tighten the stem bolts again (Y)

I thought that's what it was but I have done that and it hasn't made any difference. Any other ideas?

  5. Hi guys

This is probably something really obvious but I'll ask any way. My brother has a standard spec Onza T-pro 2005. All original parts. Of late his forks seem to be loose. When holding the front brake and pushing forward there is some give. Not a flexing, cracked something give, but a "You idiot, haven't tightened a bolt" kind of give. I have loosened up every bolt on the stem and headset and re tightened but there is still this give. Does anyone know what I have missed here as I can't see it being too safe for my bro to ride on.

Any help would be great guys.

    Alan

  6. Hi mate.

I was like you getting into trials from a long break and not really knowing much about geometries etc.

I think the best advice has been given. Ride around on a few different bikes. See which you like the feel for. I did and ended up on the T-pro. I think for the price it is the best value for money. Pretty reliable parts and doesn't need much if not any modifying straight away.

Don't rule out stocks either. Have a ride on a few of those too, slightly more expensive but there is much more choice in components etc. But coming from moto trials you probably want a mod.

In the end your choice will come down to personal preferance.

  7. Benito Ros and CLS say "No" :P

Having said that, I did find it a shitload easier to gap and tap on stocks than on my mod, and sidehops for a time as well, so there may be some logic in there. I guess you can tap higher on a stock, but mods are good for short run-up bunnyhops, a la Benito.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other I suppose.

Marks right 6 of 1 half dozen of the other. IMO it's not what kind of bikeyou ride but the rider. Ifyou have the mentality that I can go further because I am on mod you probably will. Alot of trials is your mindset.

To be honest I just ride what I feel more confident on which is a mod, that makes me ride better.

  8. Unfortunatly I couldnt take pics of mine in hosptal but I fell onto the end of my bars in my abdomen. The doc said any harder and I would have empaled myself and probably died. Instead just had some internal bleeding and some sick swelling. Then about a week later I had bruising from my chest down to my knees.

    That wasn't fun

  9. When I used to ride BMX I was dropping into metal quarterpipe, with wet tyres. Front wheel slipped under me and I landed full pelt on the end of the handle bars into my abdomen. Lovely internal bleeding and 6hours in hospital. The bruising afterwards was a beauty, all down my front from my chest to my knees!

  10. Hey man

I live in lydd, which isnt that far away from maidstone.

Would you want to meet up for a ride one day?? maybe go to folkstone or somewhere from a street ride??

Or go some where and ride some proper stuff, natural!! ;)

    What bike have you got??

How long did you ride for before you stoped?? and how long you been back into it??

Hope to hear from you soon

    Laterzz man(Y)(Y)

    Scott w

    Hey Scott.

Yeah that should be good sometime. I was riding trials from when I was 12 - 15. Only just got back into it last month when I got myself a new T-pro to mess around on. I'm still getting back into things so not too great, but I gotta keep practising I'll get there! How long you been riding?

  11. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.........thats nearly as far away from me as poss :( lol.......

altho you will probably have some nice rock riding down by you????on the white cliffes of dover???:D

whats the street like down there buddy????

    Waynio....................

Maidstone isn't too bad if you know where to look. Plenty of lines where you wouldn't normally find them. As I am still getting back into trials, so spend most of the time on pallets in the garden. Benefits of own place with big garden!

There is some good natural again if you know where to look for it. Plus there is penshurst nearby which is great for natural, plus not just trials its DH/Slalom, BMX / Jump XC. It's really not too shabby.

Anything decent up there by you?

  12. I say ban all you little *ahems* that where there and involved. Whats to say Mr x has part and Mr y come along and does it there again.

Also you 18...not many 18 years old are living in there own place so more than likey your living back in with your mumy (take that as you please) and dady so mayeb you should of though about protecting there stuff on the pc.

Guys you've no respect for this place or the memebers on here. You need to be shown the door or banned for ever and you isp's blocked and noted.

    Sorry my veiw

    Pete :(

just to point out I've had my own place since I was just turned 18.

But I agree, not enough respect is being shown for this forum. I don't post very often, but read most of them, lots are really good posts but the stupid ones seem to be increasingly growing!

Just my opinion, but we all should show this place alot more respect!

  13. Alright heres the thing. I am 19 yrs old have just got back into trials. Hopefully in the next few months I'd like to start entering comps. Only thing is as I am 19 would I have to start in a higher category because of my age? I ride mod if that helps. I dont mind either UCI or BIU.

I don't mind be completly shamed by a couple of 13yr olds but would even think of entering the higher categories with the like of benito etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

  14. Well Istarted trials when I was 13 and stuck at it for 3 years. Never really got anywhere due to being on a giant xc bike but got the basics nailed. I then thought I would try BMXing Bad Idea major injury, internal bleeding etc. Stop riding altogether after that.

Now Im 19 and been riding for a month. I have found the more you practise the basics the easier the bigger stuff becomes. So my progress in a month of riding is backwheeling up 4 pallets, sidehopping onto 3, gapping about 1.5m, gap down 2m, and dropping about 8ft. The more you practise the easy stuff the easier the harder stuff becomes.

    Practise!

    Practise!

    Practise!

  15. Here is the problem. I have an old anologue camcorder with some good trials footage on it. Is there anyway I can transfer the footage from it onto my laptop. I could buy a digital one but I'd rather spend my money on my bike so all help is very much appreciated.
