  1. :- No offense taken, see yer point Mr Monkey! Big John
  2. P O T F, Benfleet, Essex is that near Thundersley where they built Greeves motorcycles? Big John (Fan of Motorcycle Trials bikes - too old to ride Bike Trials unless they have a totally decrepid class!)
  3. :- Is that not him posted from Nairn up above here - or is it a different Alex? (N) Big John
  4. :"> Sorry guys, its down to the moderator of a site to decide how fast you qualify. I'm more used to posting an a motorcycle trials website, but done plenty of it. Keep it cool and keep the swear words down to a minimum, they really prove nowt! It really doesn't do the sport any good when outsiders have a peek in here. Keep on ridin' Big John (Too old for a Bike Trial now, I leave it to the young folks! - unless they start a decrepid class!)
  5. :- Surely you mean "interested" and not "capable" 2055? If new starts think you have to be capable at trials you wont get many folks giving it a go, it's all about enjoying a sport isn't it? Big John
  6. Hi Guys... It depends what you are looking for, quarries are fine places but if you can get permission. Most of these places are still used and they are governed by Health and Safety legislation which can be a huge problem when you let the owners know what you want their quarry for! If you like I'll keep my eyes and ears open as my job takes me all over Scotland. There are some useable bits of ground, but I believe that ground used for powered trials (i.e. motorcycle trials) is not really useable for Bike Trials. I personally know of a good place in West Lothian, about 15 miles from Edinburgh which has an old quarry of sorts but hasn't been used even for motorcycles for years. Some fairly big stuff there last time I was there which was a few years ago now. Cheers... Big John

    Fort Bill

Looks like everyone enjoyed their trip to Aonach Mor (Fort William). Hopefully because of the interest shown, there are a couple of guys in the Fort William area willing to get some more trial events for you all. One of the Lochaber MCC motorcycle riders is very keen to help get things moving, I was speaking to him on Sunday. There are quite a number of riders based in the North of Scotland (Highlands) Duncan Shaw, Inverness being one of them who has to travel far from home just to get an event to ride in. Hopefully something may be workable. Good to see riders from Isle of Skye there too. Cheers... Big John (Motorcycle Trials rider & Scottish ACU member etc, but "pushing on" a fair bit!)
  8. Yip "Chap" has gone back to school after lunch, my turn for the computer now! Great weekend at Fort William, lots of fun for the boys. Can't remember the 1st Place "Rookie", but it was Tom "Somebody" 2nd Place was David Moffat, Culloden - Monty X-Lite 3rd was Graham Hendry, Culloden - Monty Good to see some of the boys down from Isle of Skye, Gordon McPhee on a 26" Pashley bike and some of the other lads having a go from Inverness, can't remember all their names, Chap could tell you them. Some of them entered the Inters which was too ambitious for guys riding their first comp I think. Cheers... Big John
