  1. Haha, cheers for the replies guys. Yeah I've heard really good things about Brompton and they do look awesome. Though it's definitely out of my price range since I'm only planning to use it for short-term! I want to invest in a decent Road Bike at some point so that will replace the folding bike.. it's just that work makes it a bit inconvenient to own a Road Bike right now.

I think I'm going to look into Tern / Dahon actually, they seem pretty reasonable and there are quite a few on Gumtree/eBay.

  2. Hi Guys,

It's been a while since I've been on this forum!

Does anyone on here own a folding bike? What are your thoughts on them?

I'm considering getting one for commuting/short distances. The one I have my eye on from Decathlon - the brand is BTWIN, I think they are made by Dahon (the slightly more expensive range).

The Brompton bikes look awesome but out of my budget unfortunately :(

    Cheers,

    Benny

  3. Onza Ice does look pretty nice.. Tartybikes don't sell 'em anymore?

Andrew - Ahh man, it's been a while! How's it going? Take it you're still riding? Do they still hold those comps in Scunthorpe?

Awesome, cheers Rich. Yeah I've got a car and I'm around Altrincham area. I'll join the group now and will defo get involved once I have a bike sorted!

  4. Hello all,

Some of you might remember me from a few years ago.. anyone?

I stopped riding in 2008 and I'm looking to get involved again.. I live in Manchester now and don't really know many people so just trying to get an idea on how many riders there are around here.

I used to ride a Zoo Python 05 (I think) which rode really nice but I had a look on Tartybikes for the latest 20" bikes, Onza collection looks pretty cool nowadays - what d'you guys think?

So, who's from Manc / Lpool area? How often d'you guys ride?

    Cheersss

  5. Yoooooooo.

Got my laptop, lol t'is a beast.

So far so good with everything, but then again, only had it for a day :P

Anyways, I have these 'media control' buttons on the right hand side of the keyboard, they're like touch sensitive ones.

I want the "open player" button to open up windows media player instead of windows media centre, does anyone know how to edit these buttons? - Tried googling but not many gd answers.

    Thanks.

  6. Yeah, I agree that laptops are not as good as desktops in terms of reliabilty. But as I've said, this laptop is basically replacing my desktop since I don't have my desktop anymore :(

Good to know that some people are getting along with their Acer's, even after a few years use.

Hopefully sometime this week (maybe tomrorow) I'll get my Acer then I'll post back to comment on its overalllllll-nessssssssssssss :)

  7. Ahh.. Just for uni really (Internet, multimedia stuff, storage, bit o' gaming etc) and taking it back home etc. Since I don't have a desktop anymore, thought it'd be more convenient for me to get a decent spec'd laptop.

  8. Yeh my friend reccommended an Alienware one. But if it messes up or something, I'd have to get it sent off. Whereas, if I bought a laptop from John Lewis... I could just give it to them to get it repaired and they can give me a loan laptop whilst it's in for repair you seeeeeeeee.

Think I might just take a risk and go for Acer to be honest ;)

    Thx for the replies guys!

  9. Helloooooo,

Well, I'm getting a refund on my Toshiba laptop from John Lewis after having alot of problems with it during the year I have had it.

I've been looking at the John Lewis website for a new laptop, I wanna get it from John Lewis cos you get 2 year free warranty... makes things more convenient etcetc.

    Anyways, I've seen this Acer laptop on the site;

    http://www.johnlewis.com/230641433/Product.aspx

What do you guys think of laptop? It's abit pricey yeh, but I'm getting about 820£ back for my Toshiba.

Any of you guys got any of Acer's laptops? What do you think of them?

    Many thanks,

    Benny.

  10. Thanks for all the fast replies guys!

    No no no no no.

Steer well clear of this mate. Re list it and report it, i think you can claim back the price it cost you to list it in the first place too. Just type 'Nigeria' and 'eBay' into Google and see why for yourself!

Right ok thanks. I know how to relist the item but how exactly do I report it? And claiming the money back?

    Thanks.

    They are both Capital...

Vita Lemon Tea as your avatar......I f**king love that lemon tea, f**king love it!

Nonono, the bottom email which I know is valid starts with lower case "s"

And lol, yeah it's awesome stuff :)

  11. Oh spotted something quite obvious now.. Shouldda spotted it before..

    http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=13z8mtv&s=3

Above is a screenshot of my inbox.. the bottom email which has been circled was something I paid for recently and paypal emailed me as soon as I made payment. The top email is the email about the phone.

The top email starts with a capital "S" whereas the other starts with a lowercase "s" hmm

  12. Hi all,

I put up a phone up for bidding this afternoon on Ebay and it sold within an hour on the "Buy it now" option.

I have a weird feeling about this cosssssssssssss...

The buyer wants it sent to Nigeria when I clearly stated UK only, also the user has no feedback and the account was made today (30th August). Here is the link to the buyer's Ebay http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/aajalaura882282873776/

Another thing is that she sent the same message to me 3 times via email.

    "Hello seller,

It's my pleasure to inform you that your item i bought off ebay has been paid for by the paypal...... the payment has been made including the shipment cost to my son's address because i want this to be sent to my son in Nigeria under the below address...

    NAME............ALAO TAYO

    ADDRESS........5, SHORETIRE STREET

    AGEGE

    LAGOS STATE

    NIGERIA 23401

Please as soon the payment has been sent to from the paypal, i will like you to get the item ship as soon as possible and get to me so i can know what to do about this....

    Many Thanks and God bless,

    laura"

Last thing is that apparently the money has been taken out from the buyer's account but won't be credited to my account until I have provided the buyer with a tacking number from posting it...

"This PayPal® payment has been deducted from the buyer's account and has been "APPROVED" but will not be credited to your account until the shipment tracking number is sent to our customer's service for shipment verification so as to secure both the buyer and the seller."

    A scam?

  13. HEllo 2 all.

I'm having trouble with my Uni work.. I've gotta describe the process of configuring a client/server network. :\ anddd was just wondering if trials-forum had any networking people.

    My question is

    - What properties must match the TCP/IP properties on the client computer from the server? I know the DNS server address does... what about the IP? etc..

    Thanksssssssssssssssss

    Benny

  14. logicaly and comeing form a cmoputery dad i think it would WIPE! the whole computer , didnt it ever occur to back the cmop up e.g. memory stick ?

He can't get on. Computer just freezes at start up so can't really open any applications

  15. Hi all,

Got a slight problem here with my cousin's computer.. he accepted one of those silly MSN Viruses and now his computer is failing to start up. Whenever he starts up, it takes ages to load.. then just stops loading.

There's an F10 option before boot up on the computer which is called "System Recovery". Is this a System restore option? Or recovery as in restoring the C drive? Was tempted to f10 it today but was scared that if it was restoring the hard drive, he would lose all his work etcetc on the hard drive.

I dunno the model number of the computer.. but it's a quite old one. XP btw.

    Thanks guys!
