  1. Hey'll...

Just thought I'd make a topic about Unis and stuff...

So who is applying for Uni this year??? Where have you appliedddddddd?? Studying? etc etc :)

    I'll start offfff..

Hmm applied for Business Info Tech at the following Unis...

    Liverpool John Moores

    Staffordshire University (Stoke-on-Trent campus)

    University of Central Lancashire

    University of Hull (Scarborough campus)

    University of Huddersfield

That's all for me :) - I'm thinking about making Liverpool JM my first choice.. has anyone been to this Uni?? Gonna go there on the 2nd for an open day..

  2. Apparntly the police catch LOTS of people checking youtube/myspace/facebook for idiots posing with stolen cars, guns and knives etc.

Yah, I heard this guy recorded himself doing 100 odd on the motorway and posted it on Youtube.. Few days/weeks later the police caught him :)

  3. Ahhhh some nice replies! Thanks for all of them - read through them all :)

I'm not planning to take my bike with me.. so I won't have to worry about riding spots etc etc...

Also I'm planning to study "Business Information Systems Management" ;) Hopefully get my grades... hmm.. I've applied for Liverpool John Moores as well...

But yeah, cheers for the replies guys. When I came out of the Stoke station I turned left as I saw a sign "Town Centre" and thought I'd might as well go have a look since I had time to waste.. but ended up walking to no-where :S probably got lost... So decided to walk back towards the Stoke campus.. I did see a couple of chavs to be honest.. the usual ones at bus stops. hmmm..

  4. I personally think the town centre (Hanley) is nice aslong as it isn't raining as there's lots of windows to browse, shops wise there's pretty much everything in the potteries shopping centre (clothe, phone/gadgets and jewelery shops galore) as for supermarkets there's an Icelands near the bus station...Somebody from here will have to go into mroe detail as I'm knackered. But other than that mate I say it's a nice place aslong as you keep your wits about you at night lol. You will probably see me and a friend down there at night sometimes checking out what birds are about and stuff lol. Hope I've helped somehow

Coooool, yeah it helped :) I think I might go there again just to see what the towns are like..

Im at staff uni ( stoke campus) hanleys ok for shopping, stoke is awful, so run down, the whole area is very poor and full of chavs. however the unis orite and accomodation is good.

Its a rough area but then again so are most places these days. Im happy here if that counts. quite a good night out in hanley too. and ill have my bike here next year so be happy to come out riding (Y)

Thanks, yeah the Uni seemed quite nice same with the accomadation.. however it all seemed a bit small? - maybe it's cos there's 2 campuses for Staffordshire Univerisity... dunno..

So how far is Hanley from the campus?? How long would you have to walk in minutes?

Hanley town centre is a nice area, plenty of shops/cafe's and stuff to chill at.

there's a bus service right next to the Stoke campus as well, the number 25 bus i think it is, which will take you straight to the town centre, even though it is only a short walk.

Sugar Mill club nights are fair good as well if you wanna go out at night, they've got a main room with all club music on, a 2nd room with more rock type stuff and they've got a heated roof terrace if you want to smoke and stuff.

there's also free bar fridays at the local gay club lol, £10 entry then free bar all night, so as long as your not homophobic then its a good place to go lol

the surrounding areas are proper shit holes though, full of chavs and the like, but as long as you keep your eyes people and avoid dodgy areas at night its fineee

I'm going to Staffs uni in September hopefully :)

hope this helps you out (Y)

    also

Hahahaha, both the youtube vids are pretty funny... but the first one, lol. Are you gonna be staying on the Stoke campus??

  5. HI.

So I went to the Stoke Campus today for Staffordshire University. I didn't get a chance to visit the town centre, so I was wondering if anyone on the forum is from Stoke?

What's the town centre like? What supermarkets/shops are there?? I got told the town centre is roughly about a 10-15 minute walk from the Campus..

Is Stoke a nice place to study? Anyoneeeeeeeeeeeeee knowww???

    Many thanks,

    Benny :)
