    What's your job at Rolls Royce (at trialnoir), just out of curiosity?  Do you do any of the design work or just sorta production floor work? 

    Are Hope going to need to radically alter their new hub then seeing as it's skipping, or is it just small fiddly shit that needs doing?

    With regards about the chain breaking stuff, isn't it going to break where the links were joined, as opposed to it being the max. load the chain can take?  Or are you all talking about actually snapping the side plates or something?

    i am a desinger engineer (manufacturing design engineer) fitter and cnc machinist.

    it is just fiddly bits that are being altered such as the spring design

    Probably because BMX places completely different demands on chains. Something very obvious if you are, or claim yourself to be, any sort of engineer.

    exscuse me, i agree with what you are saying bmx does put different demands on chains, but i dont know how you have the cheek to say i CLAIM to be an engineer, when i have been voted for and won numerous enginering awards for my work at rolls royce

    Mr Koxx, your figure was worked out by an engineer who happens to work at hope.  Ad and me for that matter are also both engineers with knowledge in mechanics of materials.  Look at it this way, if you have enough power to break a kmc kool chain then you will kill the Hope Trials Hub.  Neither figure is wrong, neither is exactly correct.  In this business all figures are usually ball park figures, which should then have a safety factor of not less than 3 (1.5 for the aeronautical industry due to weight constraints).

    Im now going to pre-emt your smoke me comment, and say grow up.  This is a mature question asked by someone who actually has a clue about engineering and will therefore know not to use the figure Ad produced as a gospel one.  Your figures are very similar and so why cause all these arguments?

    I know if i was tom i would take both your figures and round them up to say 600NM, job done.

    i quite agree with what you are saying in terms of rounding up but you said this towards mr koxx who has used this hub but i also use this hub and i am an engineer who works at rolls royce and i have a clue about engineering as a make some of the worlds finest aircraft engines! :o

    somehow i dont understand, i have broken a kmc chain on my bmx but have never killed the trial hub it has merely skipped?

    i didnt know we were causing arguments

    how many xtps has he broke then i thought it was only one due to the shoddy manufacturing
