Id strongly recommend not making your first attempt onto something solid. Ive spent more than enough time at Corby foam pit to know that basically no one makes it round first time. I've seen probably 30 people make first attempts and they all seem to back out fractionally before taking off, meaning they have no chance of getting round and just land upside down or usually on their back. I took 2 attempts before I could make myself commit, and another about 3 attempts to get the technique close enough that Id possibly ride away. Took probably 20 attempts before I could confidently know Id ride out of it. Id also like to add that each time Ive been back to Corby since learning, the first attempt at flipping has been terrible, and if they had been onto solid ground I would have very seriously injured myself. Flips are serious tricks, even once you've landed one, come back a week later and you're first one is still likely to be crappy enough to hurt yourself. Mike.

The council is planning to have them destroyed which would have a huge impact on a lot of riders (myself included). Only women Ive ever seen enjoying a Guinness have been about as butch as their female "life partner" who also enjoyed nothing more than going out brawling with the lads. Alternatively, I know quite a few women who's idea of the perfect girls night out is a few glasses of cider with just enough time between drinks to go to the toilets and reapply their make-up. When you say all the way up, do you mean literally all the way up, or do you mean to a level which would distort average 6x9's? Also, I cant find anything on that Rockford Fosgate site which helps me Mike.

I've just ordered some Infinity Kappa 6x9's, but afterwards I read about the impedance. Apparently you shouldn't run them through the head unit and they need a separate amplifier, but Ive only got a two channel amp which is built into my sub box. Basically, aside from the sound quality suffering, what would happen if I ran the 2ohm speakers from my 4ohm headunit? Am I going to blow the 6x9s / headunit? Also, if there is no alternative than to have these amped, does anyone know if its possible to remove the 2 channel amp from a Fli sub/amp box and just use that temporarily? Cheers, Mike.

Im tempted by the door pod idea now. Ive had a look around and everywhere seems to sell hand made ones which are about 200 quid, which is totally out the question. Does anyone know anywhere which makes prefabricated ones? I assume they just replace the pockets which are already, so you just unscrew the old ones and screw in the new pods, then run the wiring through to them? Cheers, Mike.

Im looking for some 8cm coaxial speakers to go in my Golf Mk2. Ive currently got a sub and 6x9s in the back, so the front speakers are only going to be used for high end sound (as im going to be limiting their frequency range using a capacitor anyway). Im just a bit stuck with what brand to go for, Ive been recommended to use JL speakers by my local ICE store but I dont know if thats just because thats what they stock. Also, Ive seen a set made by VB (http://www.icebuyer.co.uk/vb-32-p-11617.html) and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them? Any help would be great. Cheers, Mike.

Ill have my car back soon so Ill be able to travel a reasonable distance, but for now Im looking for places fairly close. You guys just made my day. I knew I got a good deal but I didn't realize they were quite that valuable. I paid £850 for it And it wasn't the old lady I fleased, it was her son who didn't seem bothered as that was the price he suggested (almost). God I love that car... Mike.

On Monday I went and got myself a new car. Its a Mk2 Golf GTI. B reg (1984) so obviously the 8v one. Its only had one owner (who is now 80 and sold it because she cant cope without power steering) and its lived in a garage all its life. Its got full service history and from the MOT certificates I can see its done on average 2000 miles a year. Meaning its currently sitting at 47000. Everything on the car is absolutely spotless (and I mean really, the back seats have NEVER been sat in) and its only running original VW parts. Basically, what I want to know is what would you guys would think is a fair price for the car, as I'm fully aware its rather collectible, especially in its pristine condition. Cheers, Mike.

So for him they sound like a good choice. Ive already got a sub in my car, so would I really be gaining anything if I got the black hex's? I think my amp is 4 channel so I could possibly wired them up through that. Currently my 6x9s are only sony xplode so ive not bothered wiring them through an amp. Im still a little unclear on how to wire his blackhexs then, as theres the extra two connections right at the bottom of each unit. Cheers, Mike.

Can someone give me some information on the Vibe black box 6x9s? Ive had a little look around the internet but I cant find out what the back section on them is. A mate of mine just got a pair (not wired them up and doesnt know how). He picked them up cheap but they dont have the instructions. Basically they have an extra unit on the back with two extra connections and Im not sure what theyre for. Im guessing its an amp of some kind but basically wanting to know either way. Jason has asked me to post for him: The bikes up for swaps or sale. Hes only after a swap for another 20" bike and hes probably wanting a short, but might consider a long frame. The bike needs new pedals and the frame has a crack where the plate for screwing in the front bolt for the bash guard goes. Its a little over an inch long, but apart from that its basically unscratched (hes run an armourdillo and loads of other protectors since he got the frame). The bike rides amazing and weighs nothing so once the crack is welded up youll end up with about the nicest bike youll ever ride.
