  1. So is this going to be judged mainly on attitude/ image, or do you have to be a pretty well known/ high skilled rider? Because I'm really interested... But I don't know if I'm wasting my time or not

what have u got to lose?

  2. I always get this.

I put it down to the muscles just aking after a ride (:

no muscles in your fingers mate, thats what your fore arm is for,

so your straining your tendons or ligaments i guess, i used to get this so i set my levers so they pulled in closer to the bar, feel shit at first but then you get used to it and its alot nice as you have better grip on the lever and the pain stops:)

or just chope it of and forget about it!

edit : also, the tending that tightens your finger to grip the bar runs ont he underside of your fingers, so if you have thin or hard grips you can imagine that the harder you pull your bars the more you squash these tendons, which may also be causing the pain. rest it for a bit, and stretch your hands before and while riding.

  3. I've been on a 24" for the past two years.

To cut a long story short, I got myself a mod. This mod in particular came with no front brake.

A long while back, I cut a section of my right index finger off at work, meaning I can't use front brakes properly. This prompted me to get a 203 BB7 to get enough stopping power.

(I don't doubt that you won't believe me - but it's not my brake setting up skills. If I go on any bike with a =<180 I can't get enough leverage to lock it out on a gap/up to front.)

Now that I only have 203's to go on the mod, I'm wondering if that's too much?

I understand that I might be able to switch down to 180 with the smaller wheels any way - but for now, 203's are all I have.

Will all that extra power damage/weaken forks/wheel builds a stupid amount, or will I be Ok?

(Yes 0 I'll be putting the 203 on for a while - but I'd rather take it off if it's gonna crack anything.)

If it makes any difference, it's one of the newer BB7's on Koxx forks.

i had a 203mm bb7 on mod, its was mint! good for rail swaps, just most people on here are heavy handed and can only seem to pull their brakes completely fully on or completely off. if you learn brake control its awesome!

  4. Anterior fibular ligament in my left foot and pretty much everything apart from my Achilles in my right. Was in a cast for 7 weeks for the right foot. That was 18 months ago and i still get pain from both of them now. In fact i'm sat here now after a 2.5hour ride having to stretch it out because it's going stiff and hurts a lot. Plenty of movement that shouldn't be there in both ankles too. Get a decent physio, get some well thought out exercises particular to your injury and keep at them. Speak to Rich Pearson about ankle injuries he's had worse than me. We're off to see the physio this weekend, same one Andrei Burton, Carlez Diaz and lots of other top end riders use. Simon Lord, top bloke, awesome physio.

yea he helped me out mine, hes ace!

  5. just a word of advice, if you partially tear or fully tear any ligaments and dont completely rest them (as in, no walking on it what so ever) for at least 4 weeks then theyll be f**ked for life, build up of scare tissue and theyll be weak as f**k.

also whats known as ankle instability or something.

    which really sucks

  6. I tore a ligament in my hamstring once. Forget riding, getting up and down the stairs was a pain the ass (well for the first few days). Even driving was sketchy. Took about 2 weeks to fully heal.

torn ligaments take months to heal,ot two weeks lol.

    you pulled some maybe

hamstrings are muscles so that makes no sense to say youve torn ligaments in your hamstring lol

  7. unless you do that in two halves that will be a mission!

especially if you dont already have one something to mould around.

the thing is with most composites e.g fibreglass. is that the glassing is easy, its just the making of the mold that can be a nightmare!

making a mould like that will take a long time unless you have one already to mould around.

also im not sure what you got in this fibreglass kit, but it almost deffinately wont be what you need.

itll be alot easier to buy one mate, honestly

Cover your fairings in masking tape, fiberglass over, leave to set an then sand to win.

look how thin it is, the weight of the glass alone will distort it making a distorted mold, thus being useless as it wont fit.

also masking tape will leave a shitty finish, and moulding into a masking tape finished mould will never work.

there are ways to do it, but involve a few too many tools and other materials which will add to more then its worth

  8. fibre glass kit? well what does it include?

    chopped strand matt or wovencloth?

post a pic of what your trying to make and im sure i can help as i use fibreglass, resins and all sorts of composites pretty much every day.

  9. After being knocked off a boat, by the sail boomy bitty swingy thingymabob.. and ending up coming round face down in water, and drowning. Ended up going into cardiac arrest, the whole cubumshizzle. But really, once you get over the initial panic, and give up fighting, its actually really tranquil. You, and a load of bubbles! Weightless. Cant remember much, but I do remember it felt quite nice!

iv come very very close to drowning many times, and just before u take your fatal breath of water it is rather peaceful, its just the holding your breath panicing bit that majorly sucks!

  10. I used to till my bored broke.

Fire away. Will do my best.

well in 2006 i made a carbon fibre/kevlar, deck as i kept snapping those stupid laminated wooden ones from various makes.

and its now starting to die and crack

so basically, iv made a mould to make some new ones (same style as Trampa decks)

mine cost £30-40 depending on thickness and materials to make, so was wondering if anyone would be up for trying one.

pretty cheap for a full carbon fibre deck

just a little pass time for myself as i cba to make anymore surfboards right now

  11. Rockman wouldn't bother knowing damon's reputation of breaking bikes. Damon has a better chance of signing up with the guys behind the Caelifera. TRA, is a 95kg monster and both his caelifera proto, and light rigs are still in one piece despite the beasty stuff hes been doing them. Yaabaa Stinger looks pretty damonproof also

    how do you know that?

he could of had 15 of each and you would be none the wiser xD
