  1. I have the TNN LGMs and within the first few weeks of having them i took them on and off 3 times (to make sure they really were as bad as i remembered) The most recent time i put them on however, i left them on and slowly but surely they have got better. Im using them now and they are awesome. No idea why it took so long for them to get good, but im happy with them now.

    On a side note;

    - Pads feature angled faces to increase braking pressure by exerting the force through a smaller area

This is a bit cheeky isnt it? Although the pressure is increased, the decrease in friction (from a smaller pad surface) is exactly offset by the increase in pressure, which means it wouldnt actually make the brake anymore powerful.

  2. then you'll most likely be running 60fps, 120fps if you have one of the the new fancy monitors.

To be precise, i get a constant 300fps, and that appears to be Portals fps limit (as Fraps has a maximum fps readout of 9999fps) so theres potential to go even further than 300 if Portal allowed it. With portal render depth on 9, it stays at a constant 60fps, which seems to be a new fps for that portal render depth setting.

I was only trying to say you can't get the same framerates with an 8800GT, as you said on the last page. Thats all.

  3. Booyah!

24 hours of Portaling and ive completed all the advanced missions and challange missions, along with the 15 acheivments.

Completed Portal:Prelude too but the challange missions on there are reaaally hard.

  4. It's a source engine game, you can manage the same framerates that you're currently getting with an 8800gt.

I didnt quote my framerates?

With dual 9800m GT's the framerate drops down to 10-15 with everything on high @1920x1200 if you look down 2 portals opposite each other (Portal render depth on 9)

Finished Portal:Prelude last night too. Much more challanging than the original game and well worth a go if you completed the original Portal in a couple of hours with no major trouble.

  5. I'm stuck on the last boss, last eye thing. It's just suspended in mid air, tried falling from a portal way up high and grabbing it on the way down but not having much luck. Am I doing it right?

    Yes.

You have to make a portal on the floor level and then one up high and jump through it, grabbing it while you fall.

Its a bit tricky and it took me a couple of tries the first time, but you are doing it right.

How far are you guys through the bonus maps?

Ive done all the advanced maps and im 52% through the challange maps.

    Make that 70%

80% (Finding it really hard to progress any further now)

    100% ^_^

  6. Full graphics for me too. 1920x1080 with AA at full and all the settings.

    Overclocked GTX295 though

I found the game quite easy, including the 6 advanced maps. The Challange maps however, are quite hard. Particularly the "least steps" challanges. I just cant do them to save my life.

Check this out. Stage 14 in 3 seconds!

Ive managed to replicate the move, but the best i could do was 6 seconds. Damn this guys good.

  7. All the kids dig the bright, contrasting colors nowadays.

Just take a look at the GT BMXs, Mongoose too, although they havnt gone to the extremes that GT have...

Yes, these are 2010 models lol! Believe it or not in the run up to Christmas, every single model of GT and Mongoose sold out in November/December (some of them even sold out before November) Even these bright colored ones. Its madness, i think they look terrible, but thats just whats popular atm and it seems to be selling.

  8. Do you usually ride on street or the rock sea defenses around Worthing/Brighton etc? I'm just saying that for anything thats not perfectly level (i.e rocks) the RQ is a pretty bad tyre because of its width/height making it want to roll around all over the shop. Try a sidehop off the side of a sloped rock and see what happens.

If they work for you then fine, just sayin.

Street/skatepark. I really dont like rocks.

  9. In my humble opinion rubber queens are garbage unless you're a beginner and dont ride on anything too technical or are an elite rider and are only after light weight

How anyone can say that is beyond me.

Ive used Tiogas, Kendas, Michelin, Echo, Continental (Rubber Queens that im using atm) and Maxxis. I could easily use any of these tyres and ride just as normal, and im definitely not a beginner, nor am i an elite rider.

    *edit*

I dont consider myself to be smooth, and i havnt had a single puncture in the 6 months that i had had them so far.
