  1. I think its the chainstays to be honest but not sure (Y)

Longer bikes make bridging easier.... as well as pigeons lol

How do I find out how long my chainstays are? Where to I measure from and to? Or is there a site I can find out from? oh my god it's like 20 questions lol.

don't think thats true. ( could be not to me anyways) i went from a 1090 toxsin the other week to a 1065 zoo pitbull and it feels so much better to gap i have more control. I was gapping 7.2 ft like a walk in the par. not my biggest biggest is 8.2 ( yes ill try it on a zoo) and i feel more on the bike than the toxsin. Also i sidehop allot higher on it. It feels lighter and i feel like i was struggling on the toxsin. Not to sure about taps yet. Also i can front to back my do higher.

Yeah, but that's going from a very long bike, to another long bike (which is still quite a bit shorter though). I would be changing from a very short bike to a longer bike. (Y) But I suppose it still says that around that area (from 1030 - 1065) seem to be the business for that kind of riding. (Y)

I may be looking at something like the long echo team or something like that. Maybe an Aorta. Or one from IOLO possibly. I wonder how the Aorta rides though, being only 1010 and having a +60 BB rise? However it has 363mm chainstays hich are quite a good length I think.

  2. Short bikes have the tendancy to be able to be bunny hopped easier due to you not having to pull a MASSIVE chunk of metal up :P and the geometry is diffrent on a short bike, making it easier to pull up to buny hope and the alike...

Longer bikes are harder to flick around, but you have the advantage of being able to gap a tiny bit better due to good leverage on the bike... and same with side hopping...

Get a longer bike in other words (Y)

Would that mean longer bikes are generally easier to backwheel things?

  3. If you want a steel boster get a IOLO, if you want an alu booster get one off Edd Potts. (Y)

Who is edd potts? Do you have a contact number/addy?

well ive not measured mine but it looks like there would be enough for a 2.7 in my onza carbon but don't quote me on it.
Are you talking about above the tyre yeah? I think the 2.7 is quite a bit higher that a normal 2.5 ;)
  4. I have searched but can't find the exact details of what i'm looking for.

At the moment I ride a Monty 221 and the wheelbase is 1000. I feel it is very short and am looking to possibly change it soon. I am deffo going to stick to mod though.

What are the pros and cons of a longer bike?

Also what are the pros and cons of a short bike just out of interest?

    Cheers,

    Sam

  5. I wouldn't say so because NMC is for any post you want the only one you can't post about is for sale and wanted. So if someone is looking for a ride they could just post it in NMC. It saves peoples time going through a whole topic to see if there is anyone they can ride with at a certain time, and going through the topic everyday in fear that they might miss a ride...see where i'm going with this ;)

Second that. But one of the mods could post a sticky at the top maybe?

EDIT: Actually I don't think that would be that great after all, but maybe it would work?

  6. I really wanted an echo booster but just got sent a control one and it doesn't fit and was just about to order the team one and I have been told that won't fit either (N). So what other options of decent boosters can I choose from? I have been told that the RB booster will fit but are there any others?

    Thanks a lot,

    Sam

  7. i can tell who your thinking of buying off i wouldnt do it to be onest gears had problems with him whne he brought a frame off him trust me its not worth it (Y)

Oh, who do you think I am talking about? It's Camster911 (It's him buying from me btw not me buying from him)

Thanks for the replies so far, I think I am just going to leave it out. (Y)

    Cheers,

    Sam

  8. Means they are scammers or whatever, wouldn't bother with them at all.

    Mat

Oh, so I shouldn't make a deal with him then? Just in time because I made a few arrangements earlier and was going to post my wheel off for around £60 or something like that soon so that could have been a waste of £60. Phew :ermm:

  9. Someone has said they are going to buy my wheel so I looked in their profile and firstly I noticed they are a blacklisted trader. What does this mean? Is it safe to sell to him? I cannot find any references for this guy either. :S

    Cheers,

    Sam

  10. Damn! Only just got my 2.7 :( But I suppose it is great so it's not that bad.

Good idea to do them in 2.6 because quite a few people were complaining about the 2.7s saying they were just a tiny bit too big. But personally now that I have the 2.7 myself, I hate riding with a 2.5 on :P
