  1. Yes, I have seen you around town before, and recognise all the places in the photo's too. I've seen you on the concrete seats/blocks outside "choice's", where I used to hang out in my skateboard days, oh those were the days, before my bones ached lol. My mate also said he saw someone climb up and execute a drop from the green box by "The Silver Jubilee" pub (must be a good 6' high?). I presume that was one of you as well. He was actually driving past at the time and turned round and parked up in a side road to watch and was suitably impressed !!
  2. I found this link while looking up alternate names for Isopropyl alcohol and where it could be purchased. It contains some interesting information (in my opinion, but then I am a geek lol), including which chemicals to use to remove car trim glue and sticker residue etc etc. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.a...=23&h=&t=133121 P.S. I hope thats not the same Magura Julie I've just bought off some one on here !!! lol
  3. Hayes recommend Isopropyl alcohol to clean their disks. Personally I would not put them in boiling water as the chances of them warping are great and as the contamination is likely to be oil based I can't see this removing it (imho). Also motor spares shops (Halfords etc) sell a spray can's of clutch and brake cleaner, these will obviously do the trick aswell. A bit of sand paper to the pads is still a good idea though, or you could just re-apply the contamination to the nicely cleaned disk from them.
  4. Bikerben, that is exactly what I am asking. A Magura 11 or 33 has 3 pistons, one in the lever part (the master cylinder) and two, one either side obviously, at the rim (the slave cylinders). After your previous post I was just asking you to clarify whether you thought the actual rim brake part was the same for both 11 and 33's and just the master cylinder/lever part was different ???
  5. Well that brought an abrupt end to this post !!!! lol Am I the oldest on here ?
  6. Bikerben - so you think the actual rim brake part of the brake is the same but just the lever assembly (master cylinder - in car speak) is the difference ?
  7. My Onza T bird, came with Magura HS11's (older model bike, 2002/3 I think ?). Are the HS 33's that much better than the 11's ? Is it worth me upgrading ? I presume they will fit on the same 4 bolt mountings ? Cheers
  8. No, you wont have seen me before, haven't really ventured out much, I'm not that good yet, (plus, I'm an old git, would probably get laughed out hanging out in the town centre lol) . I ride a Onza T bird. I've only just started getting into trials but am pretty heavily into XC and am currently building up a jump/north shore type bike aswell using a Norco Sasquatch frame, Marzocchi Dirt Jumper forks, hope M4 brakes, Mavic D521 wheels with hope hubs etc etc (only a few more bits to get now), then head out over Chicksands !!!
  9. A box of door handles ?????? lol
  10. I didn't know we had such a "scene" on Canvey. I'm from the Island and am just getting into trials, might be good to meet up and have a ride out, if you fancy it ?
