  1. Live in northern ireland. i saw one trials biker down the port a few weeks ago but that was before i got interested in trials biking so i never said anything to him! i think seeing him hopping about on stuff like that was what triggered it actually. As of today, i can ALMOST get up on the back wheel so proud lol got a while to go yet though.. Anyway, recommendations please people! Can you get trials magazines?
  2. Waheeyyy i got a bike at last! its a Saracen Ruftrax 4, really decent price too! got it for 219 quid when its usually 275. please dont slag! ANYWAY, ive got the bike, anybody want to give me links to instructional type videos? or recommend any DVDs i can buy? there's not really anyone round here (that ive seen anyway) that does trials biking so cant learn from them.. but yeah, any good links? www.trials-online.com is a good one but i need others! cheers *edit* : found another good one! : http://www.trashzen.com/ lots of videos and stuff on there
  3. Oh and the specs of the Apollo X-rated X.05s are: 7005 aluminium frame Suspension fork w/ oversized stantions 21 speed shimano gears w/ SRAM gripshift and TX30 rear mech Tektro front disc and aluminium V type rear brake w/ aluminium levers Suntour chainset w/ aluminium cracks QR wheels w/ double wall rims Ahead stem Innova 2.3 tyres Dual density handlebar grips Can somone tell me if its any good?
  4. I went to Halfords today and talked to some dude about bikes for like 2 hours, so that was kinda helpful. I saw an Apollo X-rated X.05s for 150 quid that i thought was pretty decent but the guy said it wasnt that good and that it'd break easily (he's like an ultra extreme freestyle downhill racer or somthing with a 3000quid bike lol) i thought that if it DID break, then wouldnt i just be able to take the parts off and stick them on another frame? One bike he said was really good was a GT chucker for £370.. lovely bike but i dont think i want to spend that much on my first (proper) bike hmm.. (like incase the whole hopping about on stuff doesnt last lol) anybody know a good sturdy flexible mountain bike that could be used for both trials biking and just normal mountain biking for around 200-250? cheers
  5. cheers. what you think of this one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Monty-219-Alp-Trials...1QQcmdZViewItem its a second hand one i found on ebay, free postage and not ridiculously expensive either!
  6. Mmm the T-bird looks good but im not quite ready to buy yet (need to do more research n stuff) and itll probably be gone by the time im ready. Theres a bike in halfords for £150, could someone check it out for me and tell me what they think? heres the URL: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...lectorGroupId=# cheers for help!
  7. Hey, im new and am looking to get into the whole trials biking thing. Ive got a mountain bike at the moment but its completely buggered and rusting so im wanting to get a new one. Could someone recommend bikes/brands that would be good for a beginner and not to expensive (less than £200 if possible)? I was thinking a BMX would be good but would they be any good for this kinda thing? thanks alot
